prehnite serves under yellow diamond. prehnites are naturally disposed to the dreams, sleeping desires of other gems, and this prehnite is no exception. she can tell the truw intentions of another gem right away, and can pick out a traitor from the rest instantly. prehnites were incredibly helpful during the war. if a rebel tried to infiltrate their ranks or work as a spy, prehnites knew instantly who had their loyalty. this prehnite in particular never asked questions, never slacked off, and behaved as perfectly as possible.

indicolite serves under blue diamond. indicolites are more of a support type of gem- alone they don’t do much, but if paired up with another gem they can enhance that gems abilities. this indicolite was paired up with this prehnite during the gem war. working together, prehnite’s abilities were incredibly enhanced. she was able to pick out traitors with more accuracy and from farther away than she could alone. together they were a great, though unacknowledged, help to homeworld’s cause. indicolite’s a bit snarky, not one to follow orders directly, likes to even joke around a bit. this behavior is looked incredibly down on. she doesn’t really mind. it’s not like she’d be treated much different if she acted like some kind of model citizen.

however, prehnite’s abilities used in service to homeworld would ultimately lead her to betray the very same homeworld. her abilities put her in close proximity to rebels fairly often. the exposure gets her to see exactly why they defected, exactly what they’re fighting for. there’s no one event or one gem that moves her to switch sides. it’s just a realization, that she believes more in the crystal gems’ cause than her own, that she thinks the crysal gems have a point, that they might be right. she switches sides very soon after the fact, knowing that delay would risk discovery of being found out from another prehnite. indicolite switches sides with prehnite.
