Okay, my loves, I need your opinion about Fault Lines because I feel like Iāve been slow-burning my way through this story lately. The first few chapters seemed to move at a much faster pace, and honestly... that couldāve been my favoritism toward Walker showing. š
Originally, I planned to start setting up the events of TFATWS in Chapter 34, but now that weāre in that strange little stretch between Endgame and TFATWS, Iām seriously considering letting the story breathe for a while longer.
I want Em and Bucky to slowly learn how to exist around each other again. I want them to rediscover their rhythm, for Em to remember all the reasons she fell in love with him, and for Bucky to begin understanding the five years of her life that he never got to see.
Thereās so much he still doesnāt know.
Who she became during the Blip. What she survived. How much she changed. And eventually, maybe Em finally trusting him enough to tell him about the pregnancy and the loss she carried alone.
I feel like giving them that time could bring them closer than ever before, which would make everything that happens once TFATWS begins hurt approximately nine thousand times more. You know, for emotional enrichment. š„²
But what do you guys think?
Should we keep slow-burning through this era and let Em and Bucky rebuild their relationship, or should I chop-chop and get us into TFATWS?
The slow burn is delicious. Let them rebuild.
Chop-chop! Bring on the TFATWS chaos.
Also, fair warning: if we slow-burn this bitch, weāre probably looking at three to five extra chapters before we officially enter the TFATWS era.
So choose wisely, my loves. Youāre not deciding whether thereāll be pain. Youāre deciding how much emotional foreplay happens before it. š¤
