It didnât add up which led V to believe something was incredibly wrong. Was a pretty frustrating thought after the tenth time sheâd gone over the information her sources provided on the shooter. Veronica gulped some more of her bourbon, hoping to delay both the migraine and general weariness, mostly so she could stay focused. On the outside, everything was splendid-- she was at the diner, in one of her stylish outfits and her hands were clean even though she kept seeing blood whenever she looked down. On the inside, the war was raging on; the diner was completely empty as the female was leaning over the counter and staring down at the files sheâd managed to gather. Although she didnât recall how much time had been since the incident-- hours or days she could say with certainty she had barely slept since. First, V needed to get to the bottom of this. âWeâre closed,â Veronica hissed, hoping her voice would drown out the sound of trinket informing her she had company. The 24/7 neon sign begged to differ too, but under these circumstances... âI donât have anything to serve you. Except maybe whiskey.â
