shane has always big a dog person. triers to play it up like his favorites are the big ones. pitbull terriors, bloodhounds -- he expects robert to have something like that. a pit, or something.. but betsy? she's this little thing nipping at shane's ankles. it's damn adorable. "uh oh!" he kneels over and feigns fright as the boston terrier approaches excitedly. "you never warned me you had such a terrifying guard dog." hands are scratching behind the dogs ears, smiling affectionately.

dean looked up from his spot at the kitchen table to see the older man just watching him. "is that your way of saying you want me to be done with work for the night?" he had told robert he had a little more work to finish up after dinner, but he hadn't really been keeping track of how long he'd been working. he ran his hand though his hair as he leaned back, stretching over the back of the chair. "i can shut this down. i'm done for the night." boring bureaucracy stuff had to be done, but that didn't mean that dean enjoyed doing it when he had better things to do. "you could have said something if i took too long."

he squats down to couch level, resting his hand on robert's shoulder and giving him a small squeeze -- he's used to deciphering indecipherable babble ( a father of three !! ), so he just makes out the words spoken into the pillow. "kay, two options. one: i've got some joggers that just might fit you, bro. or, two, we pregame the workout with a brisk walk back to yours, get you changed, and are on our way. the third, secret option is you come as you are, but i dunno how comfy you'll be."

But he’s comfortable here and Black is doing whatever her version of a cat nap is. Obviously his boyfriend feels similarly if the lips on top of his head are any sign. It’s such a small thing, mundane and gentle and it still makes him so fluttery his feet lift off the floor for a second. Shiro quickly rights gravity before it can take him any further. Both hands knead into Robert’s shirt with a resonating purr. In the moment that’s all he can think to do without disrupting their position.

"That'll be $5, your contribution is greatly appreciated."

“——Mm,  keep doing that,  whatever you’re doing,  keep using your fingers like that.”  The nightmare softly murmurs,  eyes closed,  body relaxing.  “Because that feels so fuckin’ nice...”
