“so, you’re wanted by.. don’t tell me ---- EVERYONE.  you’re an ex-hydra sleeper agent, your relationship with steve is, well don’t get me started.  AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY to hog the one coffee pot on my floor when when we have ten on this forty-eight floor tower.”

                  A  SLIGHT  HEAD  TILT  meets  the  other’s  gaze  as  arms  fold  across  &  back  leans  backwards  into  the  chair.  the  pause  is  awkward  at  best.  lips  pursing  together,  she  hesitates  —  unlike  her  —   before  speaking  out.    ❛   i  don’t  really  get  WHY  this  concerns  me.   ❜ 

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄   𝐈𝐒   𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆   𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓   𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑   𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐒  𝐀   bittersweet   taste   in  her  mouth  .   strange  ,  strange  ,  how  she  did  not   mind   it  .    the   chime  above  the  door  signals  customer  ;   duster   almost  falls  from  her   fingertips  in  surprise  .   it  was  so   late  ,   no  one  usually   frequented her bookshop after   sunset  .    ❛   oh  —   welcome  !   are  you  looking  for   something   in   particular   ?   ❜

❝   need a breather  —  ?   ❞   rather ironic,  coming from him.  only one nostril at this point was capable of gathering air,  pain radiating from what feels like every area of his body.  he doesn’t want to make any excuses,  but it doesn’t really seem quite fair when the other guy has a metal limb,  now liberally coated in frank’s blood.

deep breath.  slight cough.  a crick taken care of in his neck.   ❝   …  alright.  come on.   ❞

he looks up at bucky when he enters the bedroom which is no bigger than a walk in closet.  steve doesn’t mind.  he had said it was familiar.  all of this it. ❝ — this giving you have a sense of deja vu  ? ❞    steve asks him as he motions around them  --  the small, brooklyn apartment,  the bustling street outside their window, and, of course, him.   

they haven’t talked about it yet --- not in a way that matters.  bucky had griped his shoulder and made a comment about him being taller than him again and that had been the end of it.  but steve suspects, the conversation is over - due.
