Ash fell from the fiery sky, the choir of damned souls wailed in agony and pleaded for release. For any mercy or pause in their madness. Of the guilt and regrets they had in live tormented them. Bound in chains that burned them, shackled them to the burnt out hollowed trees that littered the Ash Fields. Where water would flow were only rivers of lava and in the center of hollow tress and planes of hellfire was a ruined temple. Cages hanged from the celling, holding prisoners that wept. Female spirits of lost loves, who have betrayed or been betrayed.
Their ghostly cries echoed out like songs of sorrow. Yet in the center of the stone room was a circler pool of lava. Boiling and concealing the Lady of Sorrows. A pool which a shadow stood before. Horse, cruel words beckoning her out by the decree of their master.
The souls within the cages cried, reaching out to the pool as their lady rose. Unharmed as she rose like a vision. Lava rolling off her gray form like water, eyes burning with the deepest, bloodiest crimson that gazed upon her beloved shadow. Coming before him as she rose her hand as if to touch him. But a harsh, firm grip took hold of her wrist.
The revenant’s gaze flickered to her restrained hand before looking into his hollow white eyes. Tears of molten gold flowed ever freely, running down her cheeks neck like it was a part of her. Like the veins of fire that were luminous under her ash colored skin.
The Wraiths eyes narrowed ever so slightly, feeling a deep pain running through him while she felt nothing. Not even the clawed gauntlets that dug into her as she merely rose her other hand as he did nothing to stop her. Leaning her head to the side ever so slightly. Fingers ran down the side of his face as a sigh left her lips. Touching him sweetly like she had done centuries ago. Before she had broken both their hearts. Lovingly and gently for a twisted yokai of pain and sorrow.
Boldly she leaned forward, daring to test his patience as her lips pressed against his mask. Only a cold, unresponding solid mass did she ever feel, as he felt only of how she used to make him feel - oh how he hated it as she dared no more to test him. Even as she faintly thought she felt a shred of a sensation.
“What is our master’s command, my beloved shadow?”
