elias felt tense from everything that’d just happened, wanting to get away from everyone and everything. if he could up and leave, he would, but he needed to keep up appearances. either way, he was dead set on avoiding the majority of people. especially if he needed them to see him a certain way. in some strange way, he liked it the best when he was tense and standoffish. he felt like this was always his best chance of not being found out. he always exuded a ‘keep away’ energy. he felt that it emanated some semblance of dominance.
in his angry stride, he spotted marie. the one person he felt like he could vent to and she’d let him. instead of calming him down, he felt she simply fueled his fire in the best way possible. the more he was able to let out now, the less he’d feel the need to release later. he plopped down next to her, a cloud of grumpiness looming over him. “i don’t understand why everything has to be so damn hard all the time. couldn’t there just be one night where everything went slightly okay?”
