A small pause would ensue, fingers tapping upon smirking lips.  He knew he could not refuse such an offer due to the sheer fact it was his friend proposing the idea; however, he did find the idea intriguing in itself.

the following paragraph is about to sound stupid and i apologize beforehand,,

it just really rubs me the wrong way because they could have played around with it better imo. i understand this type of animation cant let them go that far, but it really just takes away from the original art + what it says abt joker’s aesthetics ( like doing strong eyeliner on a daily basis with darker eyeshadow says something completely different in comparison to the lines of color they animate him with. not to say one is better than the other irl, i just feel as though it distorts part of him. the fucking effort of, what im assuming is liquid liner, with his type of brush in black is just immense. i wouldnt even want to do my own makeup tbh lmao. )   sorry this was so extra but i get passionate abt makeup and the colors just dont flow and im going to stop myself immediately

You should watch it, at least the kidnapping scene they put in. It really adds a grim reality to the troupe that people tend to forget. Otherwise, the book is, as always, better.

why would they need to add the kidnapping scene to remind everyone ?? the baron literally lets the kids die before him and theyre treated like objects already, on top of the violence the rest of the circus family uses + their sudden brutality against the phantomhive servants. the fact that there were more kids from the circus’s previous years and jokers revelation of “we get away with this shit bc we can fucking clean up our mess lmao” should be enough to set off some alarms. or at least i hope it is.

how one can just overlook that behavior, i have no idea. i dont get how other people can just think the circus arc is sugarcoated fun when it was one of the darker parts of the start of kuro that blatantly uses the theme of innocence against sin/ truth against lies / perception against reality, etc etc.
