“ alex, ” charles says, sudden and abrupt. they’re alone at the table this morning : sean sick and still asleep in bed and hank had only dropped by to grab two pieces of toast before making himself scarce again, unable to stand the possibility of being ribbed. “ i have a small favour to ask of you. you can drive, can’t you? ”
@cryhavok › STARTER CALL.
❝ Nope, nope, nope--- DAMN ! ❞ The bathroom door slams shut just as she approaches, the green-haired girl p o u n d i n g a fist against polished wood. And THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is why Lorna hates the morning rush. ❝ Sean, I’m going to kill you ! ❞

Pietro is quiet, sitting cross-legged on the bar, his hands in his lap. The place is absolutely destroyed, shattered glass carpeting the floor, and he says nothing at all. People have tried to kill Pietro before, but he’s never been so offended by it - that’s perhaps why the good POLICE FORCE of New York City called upon an Avenger to come for him instead.
But he’s tired of fighting for today. He’s absolutely EXHAUSTED, and he doesn’t so much as feel like walking home.
“Did they send YOU to calm me down?
That’s funny. Very ironic.”
As he speaks, a shard of glass works its way out of Pietro’s neck, falling bloodied upon his knee, but within a few seconds the wound has healed, shedding scabbed skin onto his legs as well.
“I’m tired, Summers, but I shan’t be apprehended.”
she stirs awake with a small sigh, in time to catch the end credits starting to roll. blinking blearily, raven shifts a little, just enough to let him know she’s not asleep. the bottom of her lashes clump together, her voice thick with sleep. “should’a woke me--” her voice cuts and she yawns, “woke me up.” and still, raven curls against him, enjoying the warmth he gives out. “i missed the movie ... “

Havok! While his classic costume is my favorite, I confess his 90s X-Factor suit is growing on me. He’s a few drinks behind everyone on purpose; the alcohol always hits him harder and faster than it hits the others, even with the tolerance his history of unhealthy drinking binges lent him. Having just finished his first drink--when the most of the others have downed at least two--he’s already feeling quite warm, his voice has gotten a little louder, and his personality has become a bit more open.
It’s nice, gathering outside in one of the gardens for drinks like this. It reminds him of all the evenings he and his friends had driven out to one of the nearby park campgrounds to split a case of beer and let loose.
As the sun sets, however, the warmth from his two-drink buzz and nostalgia for the Arizona heat is less than enough to keep him comfortable, and subconsciously, he finds himself gravitating toward Alex. He hovers near him, enjoying the companionship of this grab-bag group, his new family, in a way he sometimes finds difficult when completely sober.
In the middle of one of Sean’s jokes, Josh slings a bare arm over Alex’s back and shoulders, drawing in more heat from the direct contact.
“Sorry.” Wanting to be heard over the laughter and the handful of other boisterous conversations taking place around them, he’d leaned in a little too close, his lips an inch or so away from the shell of Alex’s ear. “--just getting chilly.”
