#crumbnut

I never craved a cronut.  I never stood in line for a cronut.  However, on my way out of South Shore Plaza the other day, I did stop by the Crumb's Bake Shop for a sweet treat.  I settled on their cinnamon sugar version of the cronut, the Crumbnut...only because it was $2.50 & didn't feel like paying $4.50 for a cupcake.  The verdict?  Meh.  It was light.  It was airy.  It was big.  It was fine for that mid-afternoon sugar break.  If I was in the area again, I might get another one.  Or I'd get a cupcake.  At least now, I don't feel compelled to have to jump on to the cronut bandwagon...hahaha...which I'm sure has already long passed me by!

After lunch, a friend and I strolled into our local Crumbs bakery where there was a bountiful plate of crumbnuts sans 4-hour line.  Here are some pictures of the flaky interior.
