I think Crownlake actually did

I've seen it several times already, but it's my favorite show produced by brat and I really thought she would like it ope

a list of things she said while we watched:

- the entire first season she thought that chloe was just flirting with all the girls (and she's not wrong)

- she took one look at josh and went "honey he's gay,,, there's no way he's not" which made me jdjsjdjsdjs

- which just led me to decide that in that case chloe and josh AND lola and josh are both wlwmlm solidarity

- she caught on that chloe was heather really fast; we're talking by the time nellie got caught painting over the tattle wall she mentioned it

- every time nellie would be alone with a guy she would go "she's gonna hook up with him isn't she"

- about halfway through the first season she went "ohmygod that's the girl from dog with a blog isn't it" and i went ",,,yeah" and then she proceeded to talk about how francesca capaldi has to be too young to be playing a high schooler even though she's only a few months younger than me ope

- she then was like "i know i know the girl playing chloe too" and i went "mags that's emily skinner" and she went "oh duh that's amber",,, how did she not know it was the love of my life right away i am oFFENDED

- she wanted to know more about evan (after the scene in the hospital, she kept on asking me if they reveal how he got the way he was "was it an overdose or" and i kept on telling her i didn't remember)

- a direct quote from her: "i clowned so hard my earbud pulled out"

- i thought she would want to go to sleep after we finished watching season one, but noooo she wanted to keep going

- so we kept watching and as soon as my queen lola came on screen she went "that's a whole ass lesbian" and i felt that

- she agreed that chlola are lesbianism at it's finest

- when nick's beeper for his drugs went off she went "shit does he have hiv" bc she associated the beeping noise and the time period with that,,, and honestly that would be a much different plotline but i would be here for it

- chloe hauser cannot flirt if her life depended on it and that's on being a gay disaster

I really don't know how to start this, but all I can say is I was immediately excited to watch the web series when I saw it's official teaser a fortnight ago and the trailer a week ago, after getting notified by the channel.

So, this is basically the story of the mysteries the fancy boarding school Crown Lake Academy holds for everyone,seen from the perspective of Eleanor Chambers, like to be called as Nellie,who got admitted to this school as her mother was a former student of the same school, not a "legacy", but a "charity case".

The story is set back in 1994. As for Nellie, the first day of school is pretty rough.

She enters the school with her two big suitcases and finds a group of girls dancing together on their own. Then, a formally suited woman beckons all the girls to gather and gives a pretentious hearty welcome,aka The Welcome Tour, to the students for the new session,in the middle of which Nellie interrupts and asks if she is Miss Merriwether, but she sharply reacts to her, saying that, "Headmistress Merriwether and you should have been here five minutes ago". After that she continues to instruct everybody what to do the whole day and says that there is a welcome service in the Chapel, after which their Meet-and-Greet is going to be held in the Grubber,a "bizarre Crown Lake nickname" for the lunch room. Unable to understand which, Nellie raises her hand and enquires "What's the Grubber?", not answering which, the Headmistress rather introduces Dr. Lewis, their Math instructor to them. Meanwhile, Nellie, whenever she was getting a chance, was already asking the girl standing beside her whatever she wasn't understanding and the girl warned her, using the fingers on her left hand, to maintain the 3 prime rules,"Read the manual,show school spirit, don't make trouble", because, if the students aren't liked,they are kicked out of the school and it's the students who decide it. Then Merriwether distributes the respective room assignments. Taking it, when Nellie turns around, she finds her luggage to be missing and she asks where her luggage is,in the form of a reaction, hearing which, the other girls starts giggling immediately.

Written in the assignment,her room number was 241 and unfortunately,her roomie turned out to be Tiffany St. Martin,who thinks herself to be the one controlling everyone and everything around her. She entered, found Tiffany having a phone call,had a kinda "sucks!" conversation,was surprised to see her roommate's own closet in the room, also got to know the fact the former roommate was kicked out of the school because Tiffany didn't like her, but what's most intriguing is the notebook of the old roomie. Her name is.... better not say it!

Next scene is, Nellie goes to the Yearbook classroom and closes the book of 1964 immediately when it reminds her of her mom's death and once again,makes her feel guilty for it. Suddenly a girl comes in and asks what she's doing here and from her only, Nellie gets to know that the Grubber is the nickname for the lunch room. The other girl introduces herself as Chloe Hauser and tells her not to spill the fact that she was here. Then she says it's good for Nellie though,as it's better than bowing down with the girls, especially their team lead, Tiffany, who literally run the school. She got a bit nervous actually when she heard from Nellie that Tiffany is her roommate and then, told her to stay away from her,if possible.

Later that evening,she goes to either the Chapel or the Grubber, I don't know, and in an attempt to dance with the others,runs into Tiffany and accidentally spills her drink on Tiffany's shirt. After that, she was sitting outside the girls' dorm, when a boy came to ask if it was the boys' one. Well,he was mistaken! Seeing him to be having a new experience at the school just like her, she started talking with him and he introduced himself as Ryan Baker. He said he hoped she's having a better time than him, but she said it was a big no. He goes on saying that his mom was driving and saw big signs of "Crown Lake Academy" in that way and so,ended up in the opposite place. Just then, Tiffany appeared and pulled him away from Nellie to show the Boys' Campus. That night, after Tiffany returns to her room, she warns Nellie to stay away from Ryan, saying that he's hers and not to have more than a chit chat with him.

Next morning, Eleanor starts her day, keeping the bird shaped blue glass piece on the side table and makes a good impression in the Maths class. However, she's heartbroken when she comes back to her room; she finds the piece, the only memory of her mom, on the floor, broken and darts away to find Tiffany, and seeing her coming in her way only,asks her angrily why she did that to the piece,in reply of which, Tiffany says that it must be Chloe who had done it. Not bothering any word of her,she walks fast into her room and finds one of her suitcases on her bed, her clothes scattered and the voice diary starts playing in her head. Thereafter,she decides to open the notebook and turn the third page and move on to the fourth one, which is the preface of "Chapter 1".

The second episode is coming out on next Friday, according to my timezone,i.e., IST and I shall again come with the next review.
