Rock hard sigar throughout, dark wrapper with even darker, pronounced, veins. Not that toothy, but visibly oily. Smells of very strong barnyard and.... cold chocolate ice cream?
Quite a snugger draw for a Non-Cuban, with tastes of tobacco leaf and Pu-Er tea.
First light, spicy mung beans and black beans pastes on the palate and lips. Believe it or not, halfway into the 1st third, some Cuban twangy notes are present but with some dark toast bitterness.
Ending the first third, this thing started to taste more Cuban with a more present leafy roundness, with the initial bitterness going away - wonderful.
Transitioning into the second and final third, the flavors did not evolve that much, with the Cuban twang moving back into the background a bit and a toasted coffee bitterness coming into the front.
The stick got significantly spicier as it burned down, with the nicotine piling up and causing me to get a bit sweaty and nauseous. Beginners beware!
