Crowlegion Drop New Music Video
Lately, I've been enjoying the sheer savagery of Crowlegion's 'The First Offering' (2014). The seven-track trek is a marvel, with riffs that both churn and grind, with the ability to also tell a story. The vocals overall are generally quite brutal, but on tracks like "Fever Dreams" and "To Mourn" they can be as beautiful as a siren song. Overall, the song-writing is quite thoughtful and that, coupled with the strong musicianship and steady rhythm, always keeps the listener engaged.
Today, the Gothenburg trio unveiled the music video for the fifth track: "Pyroclastic Flow," with production "that puts Ed Wood and Lloyd Kaufman" (I'm impressed that guitarist/vocalist Linus Pilebrand knows two of my fav B-movie directors!). It's quite a nice song and a good balance of both the sludge metal and stoner rock elements you'll find on 'The First Offering.'
