I was wondering for a headcannon: How would the cast of Class of the Titans react to you being some kind of God, like a God of Gossip, but willingly working with Cronus?

It’s very sweet of you and definitely made me smile 😊 I’m more than happy to write this for you, though it ended up being a little short and maybe not so much what you were hoping for. Thank you for requesting it though, it was really exciting to see a request for an underloved fandom on here, and I hope you’ll enjoy the headcanons regardless!

So, very obviously, the reactions from those around this person would wildly differ based on one really important thing. How well do the heroes actually know this person? Because their reactions to them just discovering that Cronus has a God on his side, without ever really having met that God before in their lives, and simply being introduced to them as an adversary right from the start, is going to be completely and drastically different from a situation where the heroes have gotten to know this person, who has been pretending to be on their side all along, who has developed friendships or some sort of acquaintanceship, maybe even a relationship, with the sole purpose of getting information to feed back to Cronus and who they learn, in a moment, has betrayed them all.

The two reactions aren’t even going to be in the same ballpark. They’re going to be almost diametrically opposed to each other because, while both situations will kind of suck, there’s really no comparing being faced with a tough opponent to beat to learning that someone who you liked and who you thought had your back has decided to stab you in said back.

Going with the example provided, where the person in question is indeed Pheme, Greek God of both fame and renown and rumor and gossip, they likely have kind of valid reasons for working with Cronus. Depending on which Greek myths we want to go with, Pheme was the child of Gaia, making Cronus at least their half-brother. With all that time stretched out behind them, there’s no doubt in my mind that there’s probably all kinds of family history. There could very well be blackmail. Pheme could feel like they have to fight on Cronus’ side because, ya know, family…or Gaia could have a hand in it, pushing Pheme to get involved.

Of course, Pheme could also just be in it for the kicks and giggles, depending on what you want.

Either way, if they’re simply introduced as a new big bad, I do see the heroes reactions being pretty much the same reaction as they have towards any other bad guy. They’re pretty sick and tired of there always having to be something new to fight. It doesn’t help that Pheme is honestly quite powerful and clever, and their plans keep getting screwed up because of them.

They keep trying to find ways to either defeat Pheme or convince Pheme to leave Cronus’ side and come to the side of good. Like, really, spending that much time around Cronus can’t be fun, right? Right? Plus, as Neil assures them, spending all that time dealing with Cronus’s plots and plans has left them no time for self-care and their skin is starting to show it…and let’s not even mention the hair.

Jay, especially, makes it clear to Pheme that they always have to choice to do what is right, but if they insist on sticking by Cronus’ side until the very end, the heroes can and will defeat Pheme.

Now, of course, in the situation where Pheme had been undercover, pretending to help the heroes and forming those bonds with them, the reaction is going to much more drastic. After all, this is someone the heroes had trusted, someone they thought they knew, and they’ve just learned that everything was a lie, that Pheme has betrayed them all on a grand scale, has put them in danger multiple times, and might even have caused some injuries to the heroes during occasions when they’d fought Cronus.

The immediate reaction from every single one of the heroes is going to be anger. There’s not a single one of the characters, save for Cronus, who is gleefully, maniacally happy and who is rubbing it in the heroes faces, who is not going to be completely and utterly pissed off.

I think, though, that Jay and Archie are the ones who remain the angriest about it. Both of them blame themselves, in some way, for not having been more vigilant, for not having seen the betrayal coming.

Odie and Theresa, once their anger has cooled down some, are the heroes that are more likely to try to find excuses for Pheme’s betrayal. They’re the ones searching for reasons for why they did what they did and they’re the ones who would be most likely to buy completely into a sob story or the ones most willing to help Pheme out, should they honestly want to defect from Cronus’ side, and are the ones most open to trusting Pheme again.

Archie and Neil are the ones who will most hotly debate ever helping Pheme out. For both boys, they just don’t think they can ever trust Pheme again. They’ll give ever single reason why none of the heroes should trust Pheme, will be the ones almost begging the others to see logic, and the ones most opposed to helping this being that has betrayed them.

Atlanta and Herry waver in between being pissed and being worried for someone they once counted as a friend. They want to help Pheme, should it come out that they’re being forced into what they’re doing, they want to believe the best about Pheme, but at the same time, they are still really angry about what happened and they’re not quite at the stage where they can easily forgive what happened.

Jay? He’s just trying to do his best to function and keep his team together in the face of such betrayal. He’s questioning everything, to the point he’s a little paranoid. Who else could betray them? Why didn’t he see it? Is he even worthy of leading this team if he’s so blind to what, as he can now see in hindsight, should have been obvious clues that things weren’t on the level?

It really shakes them, each one of them, to their core.

Okay, so I had a lot of conflicting ideas for this one. There was so much temptation to take it into traditional pirate territory, adventures on the high sea, Pirates of the Caribbean and One Piece inspiration, peg legs, etc. And I did have a lot of ideas of what I could do with that one.

But hear me out, guys…SPACE PIRATES! I've been a fan of Firefly, of Treasure Planet, and things along those lines for so very, very long, and in the end I thought that was a more fitting and fun Pirate! AU, plus kind of a fun twist on it.

So, we're setting this in a place far into the future. Space travel, between multiple planets and even between different galaxies, is not only a reality but quite commonplace. The world we're stepping into is also so much more technologically advanced. Oh, and Cronus? In this AU, he's this huge power. An alien lifeform that seems to possess immortality, Cronus has established a dictatorship after a war in which he took over multiple planets. With an army on his side, still waging a campaign to extend his reign of power, his government is ruthless and brutal. He and his army rule with an iron fist, with the people subjugated but with little opportunity to do much more than survive, and with no power to rise up against him. Besides, any uprising against him (and there was one, a major one) was quashed and struck down hard.

That uprising that was quashed. A lot of the major players were either killed or they scattered, fled and hid out in the furthest reaches of space. Seven of them in particular, the main source of the uprising and the real face of the attempted revolution, good people who fought hard to end Cronus' dictatorship, who helped people wherever and in whatever ways they could while fighting him and recruiting, were given extremely public executions, broadcast to all the planets and all the galaxies. It was a clear message - 'there is no possibility of escape. There is no possibility of resistance. Submit or die.'

Cronus' only real regret from that? The crew's ship, the Argonaut, could never be tracked down and destroyed along with its crew.

And maybe it's good that it couldn't be. Because fourteen years later, Amalthea, who was the wife of Jason, Captain of the original crew of the Argonaut, sent her now teenaged son on a dangerous mission, to the deepest reaches of their planet, through nasty and treacherous territory, to the location of the Argonaut.

Jay, Jason and Amalthea's son, finds the Argonaut. It's not in great condition, barely functioning at first, but he finds it. And once he boards it, he tries powering it on. But it doesn't really work…not until he gets frustrated at his lack of success and, when slamming his hand against a wall, ends up cutting himself, deeply enough to make him bleed.

See, The Argonaut is a ship, yes, a mechnical and technological thing…but it's also a sentient being and, upon Jay's blood being spilled on it, it reawakened as it was programmed to do. At first, I had thought of the idea of a holographic video popping up, but after thinking some more on it, I developed the idea a bit more…it's more a video that plays inside of Jay's head. It's his father talking to him. The crew had known they weren't going to survive, that they were boxed in and would be captured…and each did their part before they were, preparing their families, hiding the Argonaut and doing these videos. Jay's father tells him everything, from fatherly, personal, and sentimental stuff down to the solid facts and the plan - recruit the children of the passed crew members. Each of them has a role to play. Complete the reawakening of the Argonaut and follow the plan; battle Cronus and his army, small at first. Gather your forces and find allies. Then bring the uprising again…there's a plan that, for some reason, Jason and his crew are sure will work. Not for them though but for their children. Cronus will fall; the uprising will conquer.

And so Jay follows the plan. Dedicates himself to honouring his father and the fallen members of the crew and to bringing peace back to the various planets. And I will tell you, as with the video that plays in Jay's head, as each new crew member comes on, as their blood (just the tiniest bit) helps rewaken the sentient being part of the Argonaut, they each get their own video, which nobody but them can see, playing in their head, with messages from their own parent who passed. And Jay himself, while unsure how well he could do as Captain, proves himself to be a natural leader and gains the trust of not only his crew, but the many allies they make along the way.

The first member that Jason recruits is Atlanta. He finds her on a planet, thick in forests and dangerous wildlife. She joins his crew readily - she loves nature, her planet, her father, stepmother, and step-siblings, but she's always yearned for adventure. And hearing her mother's will and words…how could she refuse? Atlanta follows in her mother's footsteps, becoming the crew's tracker and bounty hunter, a role she grows into with a great deal of ease and quickness.

The next companion to be gathered? Herry was left in the care of his grandmother, as both of his parents were part of the crew. He doesn't really even remember them, to be honest, and the memories he has of them are hazy. Herry is part of an alien race known for their giant, beefy bodies, superhuman strength and berserker rages…however, Herry honestly seems to be a gentle giant, for all accounts and purposes. It's only at his grandmother's urging that he follows Jay and Atlanta to the Argonaut, where he gets to really see and have a solid memory with his parents through their holographic video. He won't discuss everything they said but, through his tears, he willingly and happily joined the crew and the cause and, though he's still gentle overall, if his crew are in danger or if he must fight to fulfill the crew's destiny to overthrow Cronus and his forces, Herry can and will enter that berserker rage his race is known for and can slaughter entire battlefields of enemies single-handly.

The crew finds Theresa next, in a surprising place. Her father, who had taken residence on his wife's planet, as she was the planet's princess and future ruler and he her consort, abandoned that planet when his wife died. He blamed the crew harshly and not only moved to a planet and grew his own influence, but became high level in Cronus' army. Theresa is spoiled, far safer and wealthier and better off than 99% of the population on any planet Cronus had conquered. And it's not that she hates it, but her father is gone so much, she's raised by servants, and to be honest, she's rebellious and bored. While the crew taking her is technically a 'kidnapping', she honestly kind of helps them kidnap her, even if she doesn't really show it. She becomes the ship's navigator and one part of a tactician duo, due to her excellent sense of direction, knowledge of various mapping techniques and the layout of several galaxies, and knowledge of how Cronus' army and infrastructure works.

That second half of the tactician duo? It's found in Archie. Archie is a child prodigy, and he's one of the few, thanks to the way his brain works, to really remember much about his lost parent. His father, Achilles, had actually raised his son aboard the Argonaut. He had had little choice, honestly, what with Archie's mother dying in childbirth. He'd raised his son with a love of the history of the cosmos, cut his teeth on bed-time stories of tactics, war, and battle wisdom. Had encouraged a love of learning, of literature, of facts and knowledge. And when Archie was left abandoned on the doorsteps of a university on one of the more obscure planets, his love of learning served him well. He becomes the crew's main tactician, the man who not only knows most of the facts, but isn't too bad in a physical fight either, thanks to some bad childhood bullying that forced him to toughen up and learn to fight for himself.

Another genius the crew gains? Odie, son of Odysseus, the man responsible for the mechanical ship that houses the sentient being that is the Argonaut. He build it from scratch, knew it better than anyone else and his son seems to have inherited that trait. Odie joined the crew mostly due to his extreme interest in the Argonaut and, like his father before him, he seems to almost bond with the ship. He can fix anything to do with the ship, improve it, add to it as his brain is always coming up with ways to make the Argonaut better, to not only fortify it but make it more comfortable. He's a mechanical wizard…but even more so, he's the one to pilot the ship and honestly, he has a bond with the Argonaut itself that none of the others do and the ship would not sail as gracefully and faithfully as it does without him.

Not going to lie, unlike Theresa, where her kidnapping was really helped along by her, the last member of the crew was just plain out kidnapped. Neil is the prince of his father's planet, a spoiled brat who only thinks of himself and has the highest opinion of himself. The inhabitants of his planet are expected to worship him and exalt him and he's a dictator in his own right. None of the crew understand why it's so important that they find him and none of them really want him as part of their crew at first. Until they find out that Neil was, as all members of the royal family are, blessed with God's own luck and the ability to vaguely warp reality to favour them. He does it without even realizing he's doing it either, making him rather a genius at the technique. Though things are rocky with Neil at first, and it takes him the longest before he sees his father's video, once he does, things kind of change. He stays with the crew willingly for one, and though his kind of spoiled attitude never fully changes, the longer he serves on the crew and becomes a part of them, the more adventures they embark on and the more of the cosmos he sees, the more he starts to not only genuinely care about his crew-mates, but about all life in the universe. Not as much as he cares about himself, but he definitely starts to really hate Cronus for what he's done to people and the more he genuinely wants to help bring peace to people.

A: Is most attractive (to me): Honestly, there’s just always been something about Herry for me. I think that, yes, he’s physically the most attractive but there’s also something about his sweet, down-home personality that really draws me to him the most.

B: Gets bored the fastest: Neil does get bored easily. The good thing is that he’s easily distracted and can normally find things to cure his boredom pretty quickly.

C: Is the most open to cuddling: I feel like, while Herry is the best at cuddling, Archie is the most into cuddling, though it would take a lot for him to admit it. He’s really awkward at it the first few times, unsure of how to hold himself or too worried about whether the other person is comfortable and too aware of how close they are and their breathing and their warmth, but it’s also one of the most calming things in the world for him and something he fully relaxes into and initiates after the first few times.

D: Fears death the most: This is easily Cronus. Tartarus again…not what he wants but he can deal with that. He’ll just come back again. Being chopped up into pieces…as long as he survives thanks to his powers, not pleasant but workable. True death though? The end of everything? That is truly the only thing that absolutely terrifies him.

E: Is the most emotive: I feel like Theresa takes the cake here. She’s very emotional as a person, largely guided by her feelings, and that encompasses her as a person, including how she interacts with the world and how she ends up appearing to others.

F: Is my favourite: While Herry is the most attractive to me, as stated above, he’s actually the hardest for me to write for. Odie and Neil tie for my favourite to write for, if I’m being frank, while Archie is my favourite to watch.

G: Has the greenest thumb: This is just my personal headcanon and it’s definitely controversial, but I do feel like Archie has a really green thumb but just isn’t that into plants so it’s not seen often. Atlanta, however, really loves plants and puts the effort into keeping them but doesn’t have quite the natural green thumb.

H: Trusts their horoscope the most: Theresa and Neil are both stupidly superstitious about this. The others will make fun of them for it, something they both know, so it tends to be a little secret between the two of them and they’ll grab the newspaper before anyone else does and read their horoscopes together for the day.

I: Tends to idolize people they shouldn’t: Neil is huge into the celebrity culture. He has his favourites and has to keep up to date on all the celebrity gossip and scandals and gets way too into that culture, sometimes to an almost toxic degree.

J: Tells the most dad jokes: Jay does this. Not because he tries but just because he’s kind of got a lousy sense of humour by nature and everyone seems to smile at dad jokes, so he made sure to learn a bunch of them off of websites and such.

K: Is the most skilled in the kitchen: Herry is the most enthusiastic about learning about cooking and how to make better meals, but Theresa is the superior natural chef.

L: Lies the most: It’s often not at all intentional and it only happens now and then, but Archie lies more than the others. It’s something he actually had a large issue with as a child and is something he works on not doing but it is instinct in some cases, mostly because there’s things he doesn’t like acknowledging or sharing. He’s such a private person and to keep that privacy and to keep his secrets, he’d rather lie or tell a half-truth than have to admit his feelings or thoughts at times.

M: Is the biggest memer: It would be Odie, mostly because he comes across them the most since he’s on the internet or social media the most.

N: Needs way more attention from me: It would be Theresa. I rarely if ever write for her because, to be honest, she’s the least interesting and most annoying of the characters to me.

O: Has the most OCs of their own: As I’ll discuss in more detail below in other answers, Odie definitely has more than a few OC’s, though they’re all generally wish fulfillment Marty Stu’s or very tropey characters. The only time he ends up making semi-fleshed out characters tends to be when he makes characters for Dungeons & Dragons…now if only he could find someone willing to actually play with him!

P: Is the purest, most perfect cinnamon roll: Herry. This boy is a sweet ray of sunshine…with a slight anger management issue but still, his heart is always in the right place.

Q: Is the quickest to judge others: Both Neil and Archie do have issues with how quickly they’ll judge others. In Archie’s case, it really is influenced a lot by his own self-esteem issues while in Neil’s case, it stems from judging based only on appearances.

R: Feels the most detached from reality: With her visions, Theresa can sometimes start to feel like this. She doesn’t really like to let anyone know though, fearing that it would make her sound crazy.

S: Has the strongest spirit: Jay is a determinator. He finds something and he focuses on it intensely. It’s really his greatest strength.

T: Is the most terrifying: Neil is slightly scary. Not as a person so much…it can be hard to take him seriously as a person at times if I’m to be completely honest. But the insane amount of luck and how the universe almost seems to shift to favour him? It’s kind of scary, in its own way.

U: Is the most unapologetic for the way they live their life: You can say a lot about Cronus. He’s egomaniacal, insane, tyrannical…but he’s always completely true to himself and he is going to do what he wants, without ever second-guessing himself or asking anyone else if it’s okay or right.

V: Is the best at video games: Odie, of course! While he’s usually playing on a computer, he does own most of the major consoles and has skills at all of them. That said, when it does come to consoles, he is more of a PlayStation guy over X-Box any day.

W: Watches the most anime: Like I mentioned above, going to go a bit in depth here. Odie is a huge fanboy. Superheroes are his thing, video games, YouTubers, DnD, and of course anime. He is huge into shonen anime in particular (though he has a guilty pleasure of watching both Sailor Moon and Fruits Basket and Ouran made him laugh his ass off). He’d definitely have a lot of strong opinions on anime and would love to be a part of a cosplay group for a show he was really into.

X: Is the most xenial towards complete strangers: Cronus. It’s just that everyone is beneath him, of course, so why shouldn’t he be?

Y: Yells the most: It will really depend on the situation. They all tend to get shouty when they get mad, but Neil tends to have one of the loudest speaking voices…that or his voice just carries really well.
