#JackedKirby - Crocodile Rock! πππ Jackβs run on Kamandi is his longest during his tenure at DC, lasting a full 37 issues with him as writer/pencilled and another two issues with Jack doing some work on the books before Gerry Conway took it over. #Issue37 of the book (from December of 1975) is the last time Jack was in control of the whole thing, save for the cover which was provided by Joe Kubert. This probably occurred because Jack was already announced to be returning to Marvel, and DC was publishing backlogged books that Jack had completed to fulfill his contractual obligations. πππ Kamandi had always included anamorphic animals throughout Jackβs run, with humans being the rarity and talking animals making up the majority of the worlds population. While traveling through Acapulco with companions Pyra and Dr. Canus Kamandi finds a hotel that seems to be in working order... and it even has a pool! He decides to take a dip (pic 1) but finds out that the pool is not empty.... itβs filled with Crocodile Men!!! πππ Kamandi is kidnapped by the Crocodile men and taken to their leadership (pics 2/3) but he ainβt going out without a fight.... so he gives them a go, with standard Kirby action (flying kicks, impossible body angles, etc) filling the panels! The action is brought to a halt when they are interrupted by a Jaguar man... yup, itβs official... Kamandi is the weirdest series to ever come out of Jackβs crazy head!!! πππ #JackKirby #KingKirby #Kirby #Kamandi #CrocodileMen #DrCanus #Pyra #70sComics #ComicsOfThe70s #Comic #Comics #ComicBook #ComicBooks #KirbyAction #ActionPanels #igcomicfamily #igcomics #igcomicbooks #igcomiccommunity #comicsofig #comicsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BtgPwPwh4No/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1p64zx598v2hb
