This idea just hit me (feel free to debunk)
BB Gingerbrave is secretly slightly scared of Pure Vanilla, since at any point if PV were to hit his limit and snap, he could basically just one-shot him.
You're actually right on the money! Gingerbrave is very much aware that out of all the Ancients, PV can actually do some serious damage.
Swords, Shields, Spears... Yeah they hurt, but he's pulled himself back together enough times that having weapons pointed at him doesn't scare him. But magic, especially of the White Magic variety, eats away at him in a way that nothing else does.
It scares him.
It wasn't super bad when they were back on Crispia, since escaping to safety was always really easy. But when they crashed and became stranded on Beast-Yeast alongside PV.
PV who is regarded as the one true master of that specific branch of magic.
Yeah, Gingerbrave wasn't going to be letting his guard down.
