Why I like him: because on the surface he seems like the typical gung-ho “dumb muscle”, and I usually don’t like those kinds of characters, but he goes above and beyond that archetype by actually caring about his friends, knowing the value of teamwork (even if he sometimes needs to be reminded of it), having a big imagination (which is a REALLY valuable asset when you’re fighting a guy who hates individuality and freedom more than anything) and being intelligent – just not in an obvious way, exactly like his version of the opening says. Plus. JESS FREAKNING HARNELL. In short: TEXAS IS AWESOME
Why I don’t: I guess he can be a little selfish at times; during the first act of “The Robo Roundup” I was really worried he would turn out like Rainbow Dash in season 2. But he redeemed himself beautifully, and besides, who ISN’T at least a little selfish (besides Mike Chilton)?
Favorite episode: Threat. Level. TEXAS. SO HILARIOUS and actually a really good exploration of his character when you think about it.
Favorite season: Season 1. Because, you know, there’s only one… *sobs*
Favorite line: “You gotta stop thinking about what you DIDN’T do and start thinking about what you’re doing to save people now. You can’t change the past unless you have a time machine. …do you have a time machine?” That’s, like, everything that is Texas all in one line.
Favorite outfit: Skylark disguise, man. Skylark disguise.
OTP: Texie (him and Julie). I love Tutch (him and Dutch) too, but the dynamic between him and Julie is just too cute.
BroTP: I love his and Mike’s friendship, but I’ll go with him and Tooley. I think it was the season 2 ideas wall that described Tooley as “Texas without imagination,” and the fact that they’re so similar yet so different means they interacted perfectly together in the one episode where they… you know… interacted.
Headcanon: His birth name is “Austin,” but he decided at a young age that a state capitol wasn’t enough to convey his awesomeness, so he upgraded to a state.
Unpopular opinion: Don’t really have one.
A wish: That the episode the writers considered with him and Tooley going on a mission together had happened. Good guys teaming up with, or just interacting with bad guys is always fun.
An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen: Nothing because nothing’s ever going to happen to him, or any of the Motorcity characters, ever again. D:
5 words to best describe them: Exuberant, impulsive, dedicated, steadfast, self-assured (if it has a hyphen then it’s one word, okay)
My nickname for them: “Texie,” which is… also the name of a pairing, so a bit confusing, but it works, damn it!
