 News of the Times Episode 326 | 1931Â
1931 Aldershot and Lieut Chevis, halfway through his favourite meal, Manchurian Partridge, very shortly afterwards is beset by excruciating pain and dies within a few hours by strychnine poisoning.Â
To add to the mystery, the family dog vanishes shortly afterwards and is then found dead.Â
On the day of his sonâs funeral, Lieut Chevisâs ex Judge father, receives a cruel telegram from Dublin with the words: âHooray Hooray HoorayâÂ
Several days later, he receives a second telegram promising that the murderer will never be found â Hooray. This case captivated the public and the papers!
