. . .
You're very kind.
Thereâs blood on my hands. I may have overreacted but I couldnât help it.
And with my command, they ravaged the metropolis in its entirety. Tons of them, regardless of successful experimentation or not, unleashed to devour.
Their rapid decay couldnât be helped. The fluid within them ate away at their forms and contorted them into grotesque martyrs of the void.
And comes their inevitable end, ascension.
would you consider sparing a moment of your time to tell us more about some of your favourite creaturesđĽš? maybe even in excruciating detail if you so please?đĽšđĽš
These large creatures are related to nootflies. They bear similar features to other local arthropods but act almost entirely removed from their ancestral lineage. Unfortunately I donât have much information to list due to only having recently discovered them in my region.
They appear to be migratory and follow warm weather fronts. Usually this brews storms which churn up the environment and thus leads to why these creatures favor them so: airborne debris. Smoghawks feed off of the inorganic material usually thrown into the air. What happens in their digestive tract causes them to generate lots of CO2 which is forcefully expelled through the end of their tail to propel themselves through the sky.
Their wings are fin-like and catch particles in the air as they feed, which then leads them to finding a high perch to preen their wings and suction off all the material using their short proboscis. Itâs a time consuming process to gain the daily nutrients necessary I imagine. All these materials are, visually, used to form their ashy-colored exoskeleton. Itâs made of a combination of flexible material but as they grow older it cracks and eventually either falls off or kills the individual. Yes, I am saying they grow indefinitely.
I suppose other notable features of this species are that theyâre incredibly defensive for being prey animals. They use their highly reflective eyes to blind potential attackers. Unfortunately this being their only weapon itâs only viable if theyâre in direct sunlight or if their attackers possess bioluminescence (or any other form of light).
The flying centipedes are honestly one of the coolest insects on rainworld. i love how they evolved flight by turning all their limbs into wings! How do you feel about them?
Now add the already dangerous electrical heat they produce and you have a pretty unstable creature. Thatâs not all, theyâre also evolved to hunt through sound, yes? Wouldnât their erratic flight patterns greatly hinder them? Unless perhaps theyâve evolved better eyesight but thatâs unlikely. Last but not least their exoskeleton has to flex alongside each wing beat which would expose their soft external tissue. Interesting? Of course. Practical? Not so much.

Does Beholder ever get into trouble with the local wildlife?
Yes, unfortunately, it forgets how vulnerable it can be when using its power⌠and also just adores messing with the local miros birds. I have no reason to be rid of them but I just wish this little rodent would get it through itâs fragile little skull that I. Donât. Like. That.
opinions on scugrats?
<GRP> hey, someone else on the line! nice to see you, welcome to the group !!
<GRP> saw a bit of your info and you say you study animals and plants? pretty much our entire group does that - seems like it's a pretty popular occupation! any fun facts about the flora and fauna in your area you'd like to share?
Lucky for me, these conditions are perfect to house a slew of diverse creatures to study. Not all of it is landlocked by impassable flora though, there are still few areas of industrial architecture left behind that I take interest in repairing.
