Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.” Matthew 28:5-7
The dove in my path appeared to be injured. As I drove up the street it didn’t fly away. So I stopped the car and it walked slowly across the road. When I rolled down my window to get a closer look, it suddenly took flight.
It takes practice to develop our spiritual eyesight. It’s often in the little ways that God shows up and we have to be paying attention.
Lately I’ve been praying for much needed peace - for others and myself. And I’ve been praying for God sightings in my day.
And I get this little nudge in my spirit that this is one of those sightings.
Had the dove flown quickly away I probably wouldn’t have thought much about it. But its slow, intentional walk across the street caused me to stop and notice.
I smile in knowing the dove represents peace and the Holy Spirit.
And in that moment I’m aware God’s peace is covering me and His Presence always goes ahead of me.
DAILY STILL MOMENT: Take a moment to reflect on how you have noticed God in your week.
Prayer - Thank you Lord Jesus that you are in our midst and walk among us. Thank you for your promise, “Lo, I am with you always.”
