These photos are just a few of my personal favourites - even though two of them failed completely to how I thought theyâd look in my head. On the final picture, I attempted to create a beach scene using only paint pens - but it ended up not looking as good as I envisioned it. The next time I go for this, I will think out carefully what materials I wish to use and how iâm going to layer them rather than just going straight in for the final piece. My favourite piece, that I feel worked spectacularly, was the pink ribbon fashioned into a corset on the white sheet of paper. I made this with the idea to hit back at beauty standards - although the page looks beautiful with the corset attached, it wonât look nice once it is taken away - it will be disfigured and will never look as fresh as it did when I started. I used this as a dig at beauty standards as many people damage their bodies in order to achieve this status of beauty that the media makes us feel we need to achieve in order to be deemed beautiful.Â
