Fig trees are common on the Adriatic coast. The figs live in symbiosis with the particular wasp species. The fig is not actually a fruit but an cluster of inverted flowers encased by a hard skin. Their life is dependent on this specific species of wasps. This paintings are actually a floral paintings, showing this weird inverted flowers! There is a ballance in the number of painted items with the symbolism they as a group represent. The rhythmic repetition of color and shape patterns can symbolise abstract ideas such as abundance, progress, path, passing time, or any number of hidden and unobvious things. Paintings hold these symbolic meanings and information as a cryptic puzzle that talks to the subconscious mind of observers emotional stimuli. I love painting figs.
