Trying not to measure my worth through the amount of art or work I produce has proven itself extremely difficult. These little bursts of inspiration leave me with an ethereal high and when that fades I’m searching for more.

Did you know that some artists are being paid to do things that you are NOT being paid to do?! 😳 A few months ago @drewbrophy was hired to do a live painting at a huge action sports event. While there, he ran into another guy who was also performing at the event. 🌟 The guy said to Drew, "It's nice of you to be here painting for all these people." 🌟 Drew said "Well, they paid me pretty well to be here." 🌟 The guy was surprised. He said "What?! They didn't pay ME to be here." 🌟 It's interesting how some people don't realize that, even for super cool, highly promotional events, you can be PAID to be there. You don't have to do it for "promotional" reasons for free. 🌟 All you have to do is ASK. (And if they don't want to pay you, don't bother going, because your working time should be spent on either earning $$$ or growing your biz.) 🌟 We learned this the hard way, a long time ago. Now we always require to be paid a premium day rate and all travel expenses for live painting events. 🌟 In my book I talk about this at length.
