7. Repositioning
At the beginning of the year I had moved into a new apartment with a friend of mine that is less than a kilometer away from campus, then as we all know COVID-19 had come out of nowhere and suddenly pushed the entire world into a lockdown phase. I had to move out since I did not know if the lockdown would prevent me from buying food. Now after 8 months I deemed it rather safe-ish to come back just to find that the apartment had changed little to none. The thing is it may seem completely untouched but the impact that COVID had made on people would forever change them, so coming back to the apartment it felt, refreshing, new and unexplored in a sense of how you live there.
I believe it to be important to always explore the unknown, it further expands and adapts the mind to live in the area and circumstances of the world. It also sort of forces one to become more social because there is no ‘safe haven’ like the home you grew up in because you are alone and that forces one to socialize since humans are not ‘lone wolves’ but better with others. Living alone also teaches one lessons because when a mistake is made you are the only one there to fix it, which in turn leaves you wiser than you were before the mistake. At the end of the day the main lesson is, being on your own can be an enhancing and enriching experience.
