Kids building apps
First day back in the office after #BETT13, the biggest UK (and European?) #edtech exhibition. It was a brilliant time. We didn't stop for four days: meeting teachers, students and some of the best educators in the industry. Where are we now...
Firstly, we launched AppShed Academy, a set of teaching tools for schools & colleges. Judging by the response we seem to have come up with the sort of things schools are looking for as the demand has been encouraging.
We also released an update to our website yesterday, I should write about that in another post because there's some really great stuff in this release.
We also have many exciting new partnerships on the horizon. Did I coin a phrase when I told someone this morning we are "partner-ready"? AppShed is not about making a big company with tons of employees. But we do want to be part of a movement that is already happening - a movement that is enabling digital makers to do innovation. I'm excited about the momentum gathering on this front.
But the most exciting thing, by a long way, is the enthusiasm we are seeing as hundreds of new users join AppShed every day and start building apps. Most of them are kids, with bundles of energy and ideas. Possibly their most important characteristic is a willingness to fail as part of the process of discovery and learning. We wish you all well and we will do all we can to keep enabling you.
Go create!
