The UNESCO Creative Cities Network will convene its annual Creative Cities Conference in Fabriano, Italy. The Network was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. The 180 cities which currently make up the UCCN work together towards the common goal of placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local level and cooperating actively at the international level.

Preparation of the ''20 years of UNESCO Creative Cities Network: Bringing youth to the table for the next decade.''.
The city of Braga will host the 2024 Conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network dedicated to the theme “20 years of UCCN: bringing youth to the table for the next decade”. The decision was announced last October 31, in the city of Santos, in Brazil, with Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, being the other city in the voting.
The theme demonstrates UNESCO’s concern for the involvement and participation of young people in the discussion about the cultural, creative and sustainable development of our cities.

Braga is part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) since 2017, in the area of Media Arts. The UCCN aims to promote cooperation between cities that adopt creativity as the main tool for sustainable urban development in its different dimensions: economic, social, cultural and environmental. The network is currently composed of 295 cities and this number is expected to exceed 350 by 2024.

It was so much fun. Even though we’re in the middle of post-production on Promised Land, which we’re eager to get back to, we are so glad we took the time to do this project. It was great going around and talking literature with so many people.
