The VIII Annual Meeting of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) took place in Chengdu, China (designated UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2010), from 27 to 29 September 2014. This video is a summary of the 2 days meetings, attended by delegated from the 41 members of the Creative Cities in September 2014. This video was produced by Changsha Broadcast & TV Station thanks to the generous support of the city of Changsh.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network will convene its annual Creative Cities Conference in Fabriano, Italy. The Network was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. The 180 cities which currently make up the UCCN work together towards the common goal of placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local level and cooperating actively at the international level.

XIII UNESCO Creative Cities Conference.

The city of Braga will host the 2024 Conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network dedicated to the theme “20 years of UCCN: bringing youth to the table for the next decade”. The decision was announced last October 31, in the city of Santos, in Brazil, with Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, being the other city in the voting.

The theme demonstrates UNESCO’s concern for the involvement and participation of young people in the discussion about the cultural, creative and sustainable development of our cities.

Braga is part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) since 2017, in the area of Media Arts. The UCCN aims to promote cooperation between cities that adopt creativity as the main tool for sustainable urban development in its different dimensions: economic, social, cultural and environmental. The network is currently composed of 295 cities and this number is expected to exceed 350 by 2024.

Bristol named Unesco City of Film

Bristol’s reputation as a world-leading film centre has been recognised with the announcement that it has been named a UNESCO City of Film.

So we just finished up a video for the UNESCO application for the City of Seattle’s bid to become a designated “City of Literature.”   

It was so much fun. Even though we’re in the middle of post-production on Promised Land, which we’re eager to get back to, we are so glad we took the time to do this project. It was great going around and talking literature with so many people.
