for the spn deserved better challenge, i have a few questions if thats okay? im interested in doing it but ive never done any kind of 30 days or fandom challenge before and if i do it i dont wanna like....mess up or something. im just a little confused and if its okay could you clarify some stuff?
1. can anyone enter it? do i gotta like....meet some kinda requirements or talk to you or something or can i just go ahead and do it?
2. does it have a time limit? like does it start on December 1st and end Dec 31 or can i start whenever?
3. are the prompts open to interpretation? does my response have to portray the prompt exactly or can i be a little abstract? does it have to be serious or can i make some funny stuff too?
thats all i can really think of. sorry if youve already answered these somewhere or if im overstepping, this challenge just sounds really interesting and i wanna know if its okay if i can do it and if so, how i go about it. thank you either way tho :)
welcome to the fun! and that's probably the first and most important (unspoken) rule for any 30/31 Day Challenge: have fun! š„³
anyone can join(*). you don't need to reblog anything or talk to anyone first - that's what's great about these challenges because you can just dive right in. some challenges are run during certain months (Halloween themed ones during October, Christmas themed ones during December, for example) and the info post for each challenge will usually tell you that stuff. that being said, there's also an unspoken etiquette not to be disrespectful to other creators or tumblr users, and anyone caught being a dick to other users will be blocked by the creator and their content not reblogged.
(*) please note: given the theme of SPNDBCC, this particular challenge is not suited to certain content creators (w*incest shippers and br*nlies are not welcome here) because it's about celebrating the positive things the finale did NOT give the fandom by creating what the characters deserved but were denied in their endgame.
SPNDBCC technically started on December 1st because that's when i posted it, but there are no set dates. a lot of challenges are like this where you can jump in at any time, any month, and create for as few or as many prompts as you want! you set your own pace. create over the course of several months if you want to! i have another 31 Day challenge - 31 Days of SPN, which was adapted from a similar list, and which also has no timeframe.
challenges hosted on tumblr usually have a few general guidelines to follow - no NSFW visuals and all written NSFW content under a "read more" break. and you must warn for any triggering content.
there's also the matter of tagging: each challenge has a unique tag - like #SPNDBCC - which you need to tag your creations with in the first 5 tags so they show up in tumblr's finicky search. you can also tag the creator in the body of your post, ie. @foundfamily4evaā. if you post content on different social media platforms the tag is usually the same.
prompts are always open to interpretation, although it's best to keep in mind the theme of the challenge, ie. a Flufftober challenge isn't meant for angsty creations, and ship-specific challenges aren't meant to feature other ships. both funny and serious and everything in between is welcome for SPNDBCC!
thankyou so much for your interest in this challenge! questions are always welcome, and if i haven't quite answered anything clearly here please don't hesitate to send me an ask anytime. šĀ
