I especially love the part that says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The peace is REAL! The peace is his promise. Our part is to choose to have a thankful heart and come to God with whatever it is concerning our heart. I have seen this miraculous thing happen again and again. There have been so many times I’ve been caught up in anxiety and then this scripture comes to mind. It doesn’t usually make sense to start thanking God for things when we are in the middle of trying to figure out life’s problems on our own. But when we shift our focus and attitude to one of gratitude things change! God is on our side and He wants us to be full of peace no matter what we are facing. We just have to trust Him enough to focus on Him instead of our problems. Here’s my interpretation of this verse: •Do not worry about a thin •Find something to be grateful for in the middle of your situation & give God thanks •Ask God to intervene as you praise him for the breakthrough that’s on the way •Receive his peace that is beyond comprehension Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
