#crashing surf

Daily drawing 1742. Surf crashing against the rocks at sunset. . I find crashing surf to be pretty tough to render since it's a hard thing to read as a still image to begin with and has a crazy amount of movement and complexity in it's shapes. So I don't know how well this reads if you don't know that it's meant to be water, but I'm still pretty happy with it. These types of drawings are always daunting to start and have scared me away in the past. So confronting it and giving it a shot is already a win in my book.

Watching Waves It's been a month of rolling thunder with fast-moving tides crashing along the Carmel area coast. This shot from yesterday shows a typical wave breaking at low tide.
