“Well that’s good to hear.” The brunette chuckled softly as she wiped her hands against a paper towel. It’s been a while since she’d baked anything other than a simple sheet of cookies (and the most recent cookies she’d baked were ones out of cartons so the hard work was already done for her). “I felt a bit homesick so I decided to get off my butt and dig back into my roots. My aunt made this lemon cake every holiday season and I looked forward to it every year. Since we’ve moved, she gave the recipe to my dad and my dad passed it on to me when I was trusted to be around the oven. I hope it comes out alright.” With a toss of her wrist, she threw the used paper towel into the bin near the refrigerator. “Would you like to be a taste tester?”
