At that day, there was no class as it was midterms exams week. We continue to work on our project at that day and week for the presentation of PIT. We had our team meeting and had a "kumustahan" on our assigned task.

During the laboratory class, we had our scheduled PIT presentation of 70% progress of our system. We haven't got the 100% as we still had more to add that we have not implemented in making the system. Comments were given right after we present the PIT and we are given a chance to present again the next day for the remaining functionalities as well as improvements to make.

At that day, we had a quiz from the topic that was discuss on the last week. It contains an identification, enumeration, and analysis. We prepared and had it studied beforehand but when I was there, I totally block out. The easiest part was on the SUS score on the last part but I overlooked the part where I must multiply the totality of each respondents to 2.5 before adding and dividing it to get its average. As I handed in my paper, I felt like I didn't do well on the quiz. That i should have done better. My preparation is not good enough. I hope I can make up for the next one.

At this moment our instructor discuss mainly on software testing, testing techniques and strategies (Black box testing, White box testing, Regression testing), test automation, quality assurance practices and user acceptance.
After discussing, we were asked to be with our SDE groups. An activity was given. It was fun and good exercise to test our knowledge on the previous lessons that was tackled, and as we are starting on work on our projects this would give us insights to any possible issues and providing solution for those issues. By working with the group, we can enhance our skills on communication, collaboration, flexibility and even working under pressure. Practicing this would be beneficial for the team for effective collaboration and success of team projects.

Quiz Part 2.

On that week we had so much going on, quizzes and activities on every subject was given. And SDE subject was no exception. We had our quiz part 2. The quiz was not easy, it needs deeper understanding and analyzing the questions is a must. By a short period of time we should be able to provide solutions for those. Pressure was there. I wasn't confident with my answer either as I haven't study enough for the lessons.
While taking the quiz, we were interrupted by an earthquake drill. We were asked to go on the open field for the drill. After a couple of minutes we went back to our room to finish what we had started.
The class ended with relief and disappointments. Relief because the quiz was done and disappointments because even if we did our best, it isn't enough, we can do so much better if we had taken the previous lessons seriously. Still, I am thankful for that day. I was able to look back what i missed on the lessons and will try to to better next time.
Third Week.

Last week, our supposed to be a face-to-face schedule on our SDE class was used for consultation hours for our project's progress. Unfortunately, we had not able to consult our progress as my team members have not yet prepare the task I had given. If only I can present my progress and just had my name only for the project, but instead I give them a chance.

I, myself admit the incompetence of my team for being an irresponsible individual in managing task. As a member, I have not guided them through and sometimes good communication with the team is hard to maintain. Working with such people is a big NO to me. Having to be reminded all the time, spoon feeding simple task, no comprehension and so much more. This is a big challenge for this project and for the team as well. I hope they had realized what they had done or should I say what they didn't do.
Still, I want this team to work and to make this project a success.

Last week, after we had our brief introduction of the subject, we had moved on to the serious matter. Software Engineering was discussed by our instructor and expounded the topic well. He starts with a question "Is software engineering a science or an art?", and one of my classmate answered that it is a combination of both, and I agree with him. To begin an innovation, one must be creative and has an innovative thinking - that is an art. Right after you formulated an idea, you have to use science to develop and deploy your idea into real matter. Thus it is both, not just one way or another.
Right after the discussion, we had a group exercise. My group's case study was " A wilderness weather station" which would help monitor the climate change and to improve the accuracy of the weather forecast in remote areas. Every group had given different case study to be discussed with, and present it on the class. One member must explain and present it. Then, our instructor ask a couple of question to the presenter regarding on the case study presented. It was a fun experience having a group discussion as we had able to gather different ideas and apply our knowledge from the discussion earlier that day. We may be challenged by the time constraints and the communication within the group but at the end we had made our point.
Software Engineering is a broad and complex discussion. Hearing those terms at first gives me excitement and chills but as I dig deeper, there is more of its name. I now feel terrified for entering this phase, but I think this is valid. Being on a program where we must keep up the pace of innovation and everyone is competitive, it is a challenged for us to not be just contented. Innovate and strive for new ideas for the betterment of everyone and contribute on the industry.
Looking forward for more hands on activity. Hoping for more working with others to improve my/our personal growth and have a better outcome, as well as to cultivates communication and strong work relationships. Lahutay CpE2C!
