Basically two years after Simon is rescued by the Invincible II, He peacefully passes in his sleep from an unknown reason. Before he did he told Mark he loved him and to take care of his pendulum (the item Mark now wears around his neck after extending the string). Mark is in a huge amount of grief from the passing of his lover. Mark tries to make it through everyday with a smile on his face but everyone can tell he's gotten thinner and has gotten less sleep. Celci, who is normally not too worried about Mark, is considerably concerned about Mark and brings her concerns up to the captain. They are planning an intervention incase Mark does anything thats too concerning.
