How To Survive a Full Course Load
Hey Guys! Here are some things I do when I know my semester is going to be rough! Hope you find some of these helpful!!
Eat with Purpose: I purposefully do not work when I am eating. I take that time, even if it is just 5 or 10 minutes to watch some TV (I am currently on season 6 of ER!), listen to music or catch up with friends. There is absolutely no reason to be working through your meals and honestly I would go insane if I had no time to just chill out for a second.
Don’t be too Rigid: I am the type of person who has a hard time sticking to a schedule. Whenever I make one (and I always do in the hopes that I will stick to it lol), I’m always disappointed the very next day because I just can’t stick to it. If you plan on going to the library or studying for x amount of time, just go with the flow. If you get burnt out with one subject in an hour, switch to another and maybe come back later and don’t beat yourself up about it. NOW if keeping a tight schedule is your thing, go for it!
Be Social: Nothing is more isolating than spending 24/7 in the library or at home at your desk studying. Please please please work in some free time for yourself. Whether it be hang out with friends, go out to dinner with your bf/gf or getting a little too drunk (if you’re of age lol, not condoning underaged drinking), it is so incredibly important to step away from your school work a little while and relax. Trust me, you will come back feeling refreshed and ready to hit the books.
Take Care of your Body: I cannot emphasize this enough! I tend to eat pretty crappy if I’m in a rush (I love me some chik fil a) and after a while it makes me feel terrible. I’ve recently been into crossfit, and the fact that there are scheduled classes and that I am paying for them really forces me to go. Keeping care of your body will keep you going for a long, happy and successful future :)
