Multiple rock band members killed in drunk driving crash
Yesterday night, we reported on the unfortunate news about Toronto’s heavy metal band Cauldron getting into a car crash during their tour with Enforcer, Warbringer and Exmortus. Gladly, no one was seriously injured and guitarist Ian Chains is expected to have a full recovery once he gets out of the hospital. Sadly, Dayton, OH hard rock band CounterFlux did not have the same outcome and three of…

Wat if a counterflux exquisite firecraft and my opponent has 2 instants in his graveyrd?
Counterflux will try to counter Exquisite Firecraft, but EF can’t be countered so Counterflux just resolves with no effect.

How does the overload cost of counterflux work? Do I wait till my opponent cast two spells and then use it? Doesnt it make the first one resolve...?
In general it’s only useful against effects like Storm or if spells are being copied or if there’s a counterspell war going on.
As you said, generally there will only be one spell on the stack at a time, so the overload mode is a specialized use here.

FINISHED IT! Â WHOOOO! Â =D
In regards to Counterflux's overload ability and resolution order of spells on the stack, when are permanents and creatures safe from being countered? Do they resolve after the cast costs are paid if there was no retaliation? At the end of the phase they were cast in? At the end of my turn or the start of my next one? Having trouble understanding the priority rule in this situation. Especially when casting multiple spells on the stack at once before Counterflux is overloaded.
After a player casts a spell or activates an ability, each player in turn order will receive priority. If no player does anything with that priority then the top spell or ability on the stack will resolve. If a player does cast a spell or ability in response to another spell or ability, then the same passing of priority happens.
This applies to all spells and abilities. It doesn’t matter if the spells are creature spells or instants or sorceries or whatever else. (Note that you generally can’t cast spells that aren’t instants and don’t have flash unless it’s your own main phase and nothing else is on the stack).
When all players pass priority without taking an action while the stack is empty, then the game will proceed to the next step or phase of the turn.
In general, Counterflux will only be useful to counter multiple spells if there’s a counter war going on over some spell. It’s also useful against spells with Storm and the decks that run those spells.
