Note: kinda my first time writing a fanfic so I’m just wringing it. Changes are expected to happen (edit changes or adding more details).
This is a romance story between Kallamar and my OC Joyces! Enjoy reading! I may or may not add drawings but I might add them as I go when I have time to make them. Sorry for any grammar errors or spelling mistakes.
Warning: Violence and blood, SFW, other warnings I’ll add as the story progresses

Chapter 1 : First Bad Impression
{Inside the Healing Bay}
Kallamar felt pain everywhere, couldn’t feel his tentacles and everything was just dark and quiet. Then, he hears voices that slowly become louder and louder till he suddenly gasp and open his eyes. He looks around, breathing heavily. His vision is dizzy till it focuses on a nearby nurse checking on another patient.
“What. Where am I? Where is this?”
The jellyfish nurse turns around confused until she sees the squid trying to sit up, “Oh you’re finally awake! Lay back down, you’ll reopen your stitches!” She pushes Kallamar down and pulls the blanket back onto him. “You been in a coma for a week, glad you finally came around. You’re safe now!” Kallamar looks at her with confusion, “What is this place?” “The Healing Bay. We’re in the campgrounds of the Great Lamb,” the pink jellyfish beams with devotion in her eyes. The squid stares at her. Kallamar proceed to pass out. The jellyfish panics.

Once Kallamar regains consciousness, the nurse check his vitals and wraps his wounds again with new bandages. After checking and making sure he’s not bleeding anymore, “I think you are recovering well, if you need anything else, just called for me, I’m Beam.” “Uh K-Kallamar.” “Right, just rest and take it easy and holler if you need me,” as she closes the curtain behind her, leaving Kallamar in his own thoughts. Hiding in the corner, purple eyes gleaming with mischief and a sharp smile on his face as he watches the nurse walk away.

{The Temple Grounds}
The Lamb is assisting with preparations for the spring festival in the coming few months and is interrupted with a tap on his shoulder. He turns around to find the Goat leaning against the temple’s pillar while smiling mischievously at him. “Hello, Lambent.” “Ugh what do you want?” Lambent groaned. The Goat merely smiles bigger. “Oh nothing, I just wanted to surprise you with something,” as he puts his weight onto the Lamb’s shoulder, making him struggle to keep standing. “JUDE! Get the hell off of me, you stinky piece of crap!” as he falls to the ground facedown with Jude landing on top of him. Jude motions the other followers standing anround awkwardly to go away, the followers bow and went back to the temple. “Is that anyway to talk to your brother? I thought you had manners, Lamb.” “UGH get off, you’re so h-h-heavy! What’s so important that you had to interrupt my conversation with my disciples! You know how much planning this festival brings, Jude!! And we’re not related either!” Lambent yells at Jude’s face. “Aww don’t worry little Lamb, I simply wanted to tell you the squid finally woke up.” Jude lay comfortably on top of Lambent. “WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?! GET OFF JUDE! I MEAN IT! I WILL USE MY CROWN ON YOU I SWEAR ON YOUR LIFE!!” The goat taps his mouth and thinks. “Hmmmm no.” “JUDE!!”

The Lamb and the Goat (supporting an ice bag to the bruise on his head) stand before Kallamar’s room and pull aside the curtains, scaring the ever living crap out of the squid and tries to make a run for it. The red crown transforms into a huge black hand with red eyes staring down at Kallamar and grabs him as he tries to dodge it. “WAIT WAIT WAIT HAVE MERCY—ACK!” The Lamb stares at Kallamar with disdain in his eyes, “Be quiet and listen carefully, you mussel piece of fish.” He slowly crushes him in his grip and Kallamar whimpers in pain. “You are to be indoctrinated into my flock and you will be working in the Healing Bay because I know you still have a portion of your powers left in you…” “N-no Lamb you must be mistaken I don’t—ACK!” “DO NOT LIED TO ME, I AM NOT A FOOL KALLAMAR! I WILL NOT HESITATE TO BRING YOUR TENTACLE BEHIND BACK INTO PURGATORY!” The Lamb’s eyes are fully red and bleeding little ichor spills from his eyes, the Goat is amused by the Lamb’s rageful response. “You will recover from our fight you have lost and I expect you to not harm any of my followers while you help them fight against the very sickness you send them.” “W-What are they s-sick with?” Kallamar asked nervously. Lamb brings him closer to him. “Fevers, dizziness, respiratory distress, and nausea. Some of them are slowly turning blue. Common symptoms of the Blue Plague. The same one you send years ago which nearly wipe out my entire flock. You will have a week to recover and Beam will help you with the rest.” The Lamb places the shaking squid back on his bed and turns to Beam who patiently waits for orders. “Beam. I want you to watch over his injuries and monitor him as he will start working in the Healing Bay in a week. Teach him everything he needs to know and report back to me on his progress, let me know if he causes any trouble. Oh wrap him up in new bandages and he’s not allowed visitors until tomorrow morning.” Beam bows down, “Of course my Lamb. As you command.” Lambent turns to Jude, who smirks at him. “Let’s go.” And both of them leave the Healing Bay.

As the duo walk back to the temple, Jude checks his head and ditches the ice bag. The Lamb is slowly losing the redness in his eyes yet the tense silence saids otherwise. Jude broke the ice. “Well, I haven’t seen that side of you since Leshy’s fight with the yellow cat last year. Still upset Lamb?” Lamb groans softly, covering half of his face with his hand. “Great, another bloody Bishop to take care of. Plus you Jude.” “Ouch Lambie.” “Don’t call me that.”

^The Next Morning^
Kallamar wakes up and feels eyes on him. He open his eyes to see two of his siblings who each grasp one of his many tentacles. “Kal… awake… now.” Kallamar smiles softly “My sister, my brother, you’re alive!” Leshy yells “About time you woke up, sleeping beauty. Made me and Heket wait so long.” “I’m still healing from my wounds, Leshy.” “Yeah, still a big baby I see.” “Shut up Leshy!” “Quiet… both.” Beams opens the curtains and is surprised to find Leshy and Heket. “Oh, you two are fast! I need to check his wounds again.” Leshy and Heket move out of the way to allow the jellyfish space to work. Kallamar’s two tentacles have bleed out, same ones both siblings were holding on. The jellyfish gave all three a look and Kallamar and Heket look away while Leshy sniffs the air. “I know you are still the same sensitive and dramatic squid, but I can’t believe you bleed easily—OWW!” Heket smacks Leshy’s head, “…Behave…” “I do not bleed easily, I’m just fragile, I need special care because everything hurts everywhere!” Heket groans in annoyance, slapping her forehead.

{Joyces and Alar’s Hut}
Joyces is admiring a piece of jewelry glimmering in the sunlight, peeking through the curtains. “Father, I love it! It’s beautiful!” A slightly cracked sea-foam bead bracelet that glows brightly against the sunlight, showing off its bright vanity. A little light purple crystal in the shape of a seashell dangles in the middle, Joyces touches it with admiration. Alar is changing behind a curtain out of view, “I knew you’ll love it!” Sudden bursts of coughing comes from Alar, startling Joyces from the bracelet. “Pa, are you are okay? You been coughing for a while now. I really think you need to go to the Healing Bay.” “Oh you worry too much, it’s just a cough, nothing to worry about.” “Please tell me if it gets worse, okay?” Alar huffs through his nose, “My daughter, I’ll be fine, I’ll let you know if I get worse.” “I really don’t understand why you hate going to the Healing Bay. You should go there to get check out.” Alar steps out of the curtain, his fisherman clothes and his gear hanging from his pockets. He grabs his fishing pole and his fishing gear and looks at his daughter. “I’ll be fine, now let’s go get breakfast before they run out of coffee and me favorite muffin. You know I need my coffee to get through the day of fishing. I’ll make sure to fish that Tuna and Salmon you love so much” Joyces groans in annoyance, covering her eyes. “I have the most annoying father in the world.” Alar throws a pillow at her, throwing her off.

{Mess Hall}
“Morning! Nice bed hair! Shut up! Hello! Morning everyone!” Long, several tables filled with followers of different ages enjoying talk and breakfast. Children running around and bumping into other people, nearly dropping their food and drinks. Alar and Joyces are sitting among their friends, chatting about the upcoming festival. “Oh, I can’t wait for the day, I have my best dress and everything ready! Now I need a handsome date to come with me for the dance of the night! Do you have a dress for the dance yet, Joyces?” Joyces pauses midway through breakfast, trying to come up with an excuse. “Uhhhhh, I haven’t found one I really like. Plus I’ll probably be dancing with my father again like last year.” “WHAT?! AGAIN?! No offense, Alar.” Alar chuckles with amusement. “She’s right through. I don’t think I have the same energy as last year to dance with you again, as much I enjoy dancing with my beautiful daughter. You need to find a date other than your old man. You are old enough to be married by now. You should already start living your life with someone.” “Father, I’m not going to talk to you about my dating life.” “Don’t have to, I know everything,” as he sips his coffee while Joyces looks at him with a shocked look. “Oh my goodness, where did you get that bracelet?! It’s so pretty!” The friend squealed at Joyces. “Did a guy gave you that! I need details!!” “No, my father gave it to me this morning. It’s a gift from him.” Joyces shows her bracelet to everyone at the table.
In a distance, a purple crab follower stares at her with uncertainty while eating his breakfast.

After the morning session at the Temple, Joyces binds goodbye to her father and heads to the Healing Bay. As she enters and puts on her mask, she checks on the few elderly residents who are suffering from the Blue Plague. An old bird who is wheezing in his sleep and as Joyces checks his forehead, she realizes his fever hasn’t come down. She wets a towel in a nearby bowl of water and cools his forehead, hoping to help break the fever. “If only we aren’t out of Camellias Flowers,” Joyces sighed sadly. Another patient who is awake, but unable to eat the small meal Joyces offers her due to the nausea. The last patient seems to be recovering from the worst symptoms, but mainly still has a cough and small fever, but was able to eat the hearty meal prepared for him. “I’m doing okay, kid. I can only hope the same thing will happen to the rest of them.”

As Joyces passes by Kallamar’s room, she hears commotion happening behind the curtain. ‘What in the world…’ she thought. She pulls the curtain to find Kallamar wrestling with Leshy from pulling on his blanket. As she starts to yell at both of them to stop fighting, Leshy lets go of the blanket, causing Kallamar to crash into Joyces and both fell to the floor. Kallamar was unable to stop himself from landing on top of Joyces, causing a big gasp out of her. Once the room stops spinning (and finally breathe again), she looks down and slowly turns red from the realization the squid is on her. Kallamar lifts himself up, groaning about the pain and looks at the girl he crashed into. He only had about 5 seconds before getting slapped in the face by Joyces who quickly gets up and runs away. He gasped in pain from the slap and groans as he looks back on his siblings. Leshy laughing his butt off while Heket was obviously failing to not find the situation funny to laugh about. Kallamar looks back and finds the girl gone.
He looks down ashamed until he notices a bracelet on the floor. He picks it up and realize the girl accidentally drop it. It was the seafoam bead bracelet.
