     “THIS IS FUCKING stupid,” the brunette murmured under her breath as she glared at herself in the mirror, clad in probably the dumbest outfit to ever grace the earth.

“first of all, i’m a girl, and second of all, it’s fucking november --- why do i have to wear the santa suit?” she cursed, her eyebrows furrowing more by the second as she continued to stare at her embarrassing reflection in the mirror. “third of all, there’s also hardly any kids here --- why do we even need someone wearing a santa suit? i’m pretty sure we all know he’s not real. and fourth of all, why do i have to wear the santa suit?!”

clearly, the situation was fucking hilarious to everyone but her, but she was started to regret the decision to toss on the obnoxiously red jumpsuit per the request of her sister after turning in the mirror for the umpteenth time --- curse her undying love for soojung that made her an eternal sap for the younger female.      DESCRIBING SOOYEON AS competitive was nothing but an understatement. blame whatever factor from her less-than-stellar adolescence for transforming her into the literal embodiment of second place is the first loser --- either way, when you tell her that the school would be hosting a friendly snowball fight, then you should have at least expected that she’d perceive your words as an invitation to start a goddamn war.

it hadn’t even been a hour after all of the decorations were firmly and elegantly hung amongst the branches of the forest that now enveloped the perimeter of the school, and she was already destroying the majority of the student body.

( probably the only reason she actually enjoyed the wintertime --- aquakinesis came really handy when it started to snow. )

granted, she should have gone easy on the poor squirts with her being, y’know, a teacher and all, but they were all practically asking to be murdered via snowball when the all-out warfare turned into a 25 vs. 1 battle. and by that point, projectile spheres of snow were being shot left and right to ensure her dominance over the lil’ punks. 

though, excuse her for not paying attention when her ammunition pelted her x-men senior square in the face with no remorse whatsoever --- she’s sorry.. probably. ( @benniexm. )

charcoal boots hit the wet pavement, but as always, yerim is floating on air. she can already hear sounds of laughter and destruction resounding from behind the closed entrance to the building. her pace nearly slows to a halt, but then her stomach rumbles underneath thick layers of wool, and she’s reminded of why she came here in the first place. still, her steps are slow, cautious as she enters the crowded lobby. gloved hands fix the scarf that covers the lower part of her face. it’s worse than she imagined. almost ever student, teacher, and staff must be here. it’s already that time of year; the holidays are coming, and yerim wants none of it. her eyes dart across the room, mentally drawing out the best route to take to the cafeteria.

but before she can take one step, she spots a fast moving mass out of the corner of her eye. the force knocks her off her feet and throws her into the person closest on her left. lying flat on her back, yerim hears a hasty ‘sorry!’ and heavy footsteps running back into the chaos before she can gather her senses.

“i’m so sorry…” yerim’s voice is muffled behind the scarf as she looks over at the girl she collided with. “oh…”

the mishap originated from something purely innocent. it started off merely just spending quality time with the only blood relation he adored, as simple as that. sehun fucked off from the very much forced chore of decorating the massive christmas tree in spite of the nagging instructor for his twin. but of course, even if it’s outdoor in the numbing cold and decorating yet another christmas tree, 

he won’t complain(, it’s jaehun’s tree so sehun has blinded himself that he’s okay with it). plus, he’s barely moving a muscle and that’s perfectly perfect for our ever so lazy oh sehun.

“it’s a shame everyone else is playing with that stupid tree inside and they can’t see yours.” it’s funny he knows, the way he dotes on his brother albeit the slim age difference (the age difference being a few short minutes). sehun muses in the bruising cold with his mutation happily providing warmth, warmth perhaps generating from the sight of his brother content. 

* // with enough layers to disguise him as a relatively tall penguin, he ( dared to ) shuffle his way out the front door of the lobby, the cool air already challenging his much more advanced thermal barrier ( plus 5 layers ) as he carefully took a step or two forward before exhaling a warm breath to allow the shiver of his prickling skin to subside as his warmth continued to pulsate outwards, creating his own little shield as the snow beneath his feet melted to little pools - 

when winter comes around, the cyrokinetic spends most of his time outdoors. of course, this is expected more than anything. unlike ravi around this time of the year, jaehun freely lounges out on school grounds, nestled within inches of snow in utter content. 

tonight hadn’t been different. although he reckons ( deep in the back of his mind, a tiny voice brings up a valid point ) that his time should be wisely spent back in the lobby with the rest of his peers, hanging useless ornaments on dead greenery to celebrate a holiday most of their nation took for an excuse to go dating than anything. but then, he remembers, even with the addition of such wonderful weather — he’d rather slam a car door on his frozen tongue.

back against frosted glass, he’s able to hear the festivities within the building anyhow, taking quiet note of the holiday carols blasting through, joyous laughter, and the occasional bickering—all coming together in a bastardized harmony that could be heard through the open door of the lobby entrance.

it didn’t matter that he was wearing approximately five layers while sitting in front of the fireplace in a room off the lobby. in fact, despite all this, he still felt the terrible chill of the weather make his skin prickle, and his teeth chatter. he hated it !! it didn’t matter how much of his attention he focused on producing that wave of heat that rippled throughout him as well as the small, yet immediate area around him, he was still chattering away as if he were being subjected to some cruel prank from the school’s resistant ice head. in all honesty, he was just waiting around for the time the tree would go up before he could sulk off and warm up in the peace of his own room, away from the abundance of snow, and chilly draft that entered whenever someone opened the front door. but despite it all, he removed a hand from his pocket to fetch his phone as he quickly typed out a message.
