Headcanons incoming: Emmeline was pressured into working at magical law firm by her parents. She hated it there, her passion had always lied within the realm of experimentation and more fanciful pursuits. She didn’t get to see her “friend” Pandora much in person as she is very busy, but she ranted to her in letters about her ideas.
She had been working there for a few years when the war broke out. She was at Diagon Alley during one of the first death eater attacks, she was almost killed. It forced her to reevaluate her life choices. Was she really going to die a doormat getting trampled by her family members? She couldn’t let that happen. She had to change course. She quits her job and confesses her love to Pandora, they move in together Pandora.
She then gets employed by the department of mysteries. She is excited that she gets to do more interesting work. She gets approached by Dumbledore after this. Temporal magic is her specialty, she created the bell jar of time in the time room. She worked on the timeturner project in its infancy but she didn’t know what it was about because she wasn’t high ranking enough. The longer she stayed there the more she realized something dark was happening in one of the divisions. They were working on new magical hexes and curses, and testing them on gnomes. She makes an “anonymous” report to the daily prophet about this, but somebody at the prophet rats her out. She gets fired from her job and blacklisted by the ministry.
And then Pandora breaks up with her for Xenophilius(babe was not having a good time.)
that's so cute. and also so so sad. and surprisingly similar to my emmeline, like so how she acts and her relationship with pandora literally the same (just in a slightly diff situation)
