Dragon A Day 2022 Day 1: Your Favorite Dragon Yrsa - The Frozen Seafarer

She has seen the thousand waves the ocean had to offer her, yet she had never seen such a sight as the one in front of her. Inside her chest she could feel her already cold blood chill further and her breath stutter, slowly sucking in as though it may be the last thing she'd do if done too loud or quickly.

By whatever means had brought her here, she could have sworn it wanted her dead. Bringing her to unfamiliar lands filled with trickery, alone and uncertain.

Mere feet between her and her beacon, she laid witness as it stirred in slumber.

A gentle buzzing echoes off the walls as they comb through the ruins, meticulously looking over every stone. His gaze finally settles on a small glittering object, softly glowing blue beneath a broken piece of an ancient column.

Their voice is quiet, like a whisper spoken in secret. "Oh, there you are. Your light nearly went out! Can't have that, we cannot lose another. Let us return to the grove now, you look worn."
