AHHHH HI DARLING!! (Candlelight… what if I cry… almost like we’re. Twin flames. Or something. Hehe🕯️))

Tbh I am both sick and also have been crashing out from academic and life stress most of the day/kicking myself for procrastinating shit anyways, BUT I think things will be okay, I actually got a lot done today despite feeling icky and my brain trying to convince me I’m a lazy slug (chuuya reference unintended), SO! We persist!

All time favorite frogs … OH OH OH- ohhh I could make SEVERAL POSTS ABOUT THIS AHHH—-

Okay but if I have to narrow it down…

I’d say one that I hold near to my heart is the Cuban Tree Frog! And yes, I know this is controversial, because theyre an invasive species and harmful to the ecosystem blah blah blah- but I love them so dearly. Theyre all over the place here, and we had a pet one growing up (we raised him from a tadpole we found him in a rain barrel, and didnt wanna release him since he was invasive). His name was Ralph and he lived a good long life on a terrarium on our kitchen counter.

Anyways besides that, cuban tree frogs are all over the place where I go to college- hence why I became so totally obsessed with frogs a few years ago! (I always liked them, but a few years back I started encountering them everywhere and became HARDCORE OBSESSED.)

They loveeee hiding on my bike, and that one on the right actually stayed in my cupholder all day until i finally poked him out! Poor guy.

Fun facts about cuban tree frogs:

They can CAMOFLAUGE! As seen here in this pic I took which may or may not have been at the start of my frog obsession-

They also have BLUE BONES (gasppp) and they have rly big eyes and toe pads, which is part of what makes them so cute!

Like YES they are bad for the ecosystem, but they seem to be here to stay so we may as well love them anyways. Its not their fault theyre invasive okay?? Theyre just little (big) guys…

Anyways. Another fav of mine is the Little Grass Frog, which we ALSO have quite a lot of here. At the school I work at, the preschool kids will catch them in bunches… (pls dont do this btw its very bad for them and for you, alas I cant rly explain this to my preschool students) one time a kid caught like. 30+ at once. Poor frogs…

I love these frogs lots because theyre SO tiny and cute, and because theyre lowkey where my frog obsession began; my siblings and I used to fish them out of the pool to rescue them from the chlorine when we were younger, because they were CONSTANTLY falling in. Lots of memories of rescuing poor drowned frogs…

LOOK HOW TINYYY! Theyre like the size of a fingertip, and the freshly hatched ones are even SMALLER… so cute!

So those are probably my top two faves just based on what I see irl. I love living where I do largely because of the wildlife honestly; i cant imagine not seeing cute friends like this on a daily basis! They make me so happy.

Besides these local frogs, I also loveee Desert Rain Frogs, Turtle Frogs, Morelets tree frog, Vietnamese Mossy Frogs, and Chinese Flying Frogs. Theyre all super cool looking so I highly recommend looking them up hehe. And ofc the classic “whites tree frog” is always a cutie!

OKAY. Moving on from frogs… sigh…

I’M SO GLAD UR LISTENING TO TØP YAYAYAY THEYRE SO GOOD!! Obviously they are popular, but i feel like a lot of people still underestimate how damn good their music actually is, because theyre so worried about being “cringe”… like just say youre afraid of whimsy smh. I love it so very much.

…okay WOW. Long post. But in my defense! You did ask me about both FROGS and MUSIC, two of my all time favorite things in the entire world, sooo… yeah.
