"okay, don't freak out." it wasn't a great way to start the conversation, especially considering the quick way margo had barged into their place, but after everything the two of them had been through she didn't even think about trying to start lightly. she didn't need to worry about that sort of shit with eliot, which is why margo easily reached into her bag, pulling out a small live rabbit. "this little shit was definitely giving me a weird look outside. he might be one of those creepy messenger rabbits, but he wouldn't say anything to me. i need you to try in case it's like a misogyny thing." and then potentially help her sneak a bunny back into the park, but at least that margo could easily bribe him into with the promise of drinks after. she definitely needed one herself after the last half an hour of angrily whispering to a rabbit.

maeve walked through the doors after her shift. 4 fucking a.m. when did she decide this was a good idea? the door closed behind her, not realizing there was anyone else up still. "shit, sorry. i figured everyone would be long asleep." they stated with a hint of embarrassment behind her tone as she tried not to let her things drop at the coffee table.

"Also, does that mean there is trouble on the horizon again? Because it certainly smells like it..."

marie hated the off season. they felt bored with their extra time. and it only fueled the pressure they felt to be better. it took them a long time to be seen as more than just the sophomore on the team. they wanted to make varsity this year so they couldn't rest. marie found herself walking in the gym mostly reserved for their team during the season so they wouldn't be bothered. though they froze when seeing they wouldn't be alone in the training room. "oh- jordan. i didn't think anyone would be in here this early."

it was the song that stopped eurydice, the tune she knew in her heart was familiar. she'd already seen orpheus once before, briefly in passing, but at the time she'd written the whole thing off, sure it was a hallucination, or just a similar face, some impossibility. she wasn't about to embarrass and hurt herself by going up to a stranger. now though, as eurydice heard the music she had to think again. who else could be playing but orpheus. she still waited for a moment before approaching, not with apprehension, but rather to take the time and listen to him. she'd been sure she wouldn't ever get to hear orpheus play again. even though she had wanted to approach with caution it was too easy to smile, standing there watching him. "i like your tune." she said, almost coy as she got in front of him. "is it finished yet?"
