Strahd’s having... a day. (A week. A month.)

This comic is from our personal Curse of Strahd Game, where Strahd keeps sending his polycule to fuck up the party, and the party keep almost killing them. The dhampyr in the first panel is an ex-PC who decided to retire her character by joining Strahd’s side. 

So im going to share some notes about our characters and some of the defining moments in our campaign so far.

CHARACTERS:

• Talia (my pc). College of Spirits bard. Half high elf/ Half dusk elf Nobel woman who has disguised herself as a male jester for the last ~300 years.

•Rahadin killed her parents when she was around 8 years old (this was the first time she had ever left her house). She somehow escaped Barovia with little to no recollection of how and has been performing throughout Waterdeep since the incident.. until now.

•Thinks her whole life is a cruel joke the Gods are playing on her. She believes that maybe in a past life, she was so unbelievably loved and cherished that now she is destined to spend centuries alone.

•She has become incredibly close and codependent on Ireena, the first person to know of her being both a woman and an elf. They sort of parallel each other.

•She has piqued the interest of Strahd and is unsure of who the woman he keeps telling her that she reminds him of is.

• Ezekieiul. A tiefling Paladin of Lathander Formerly a Paladin of Shar until a massacre that ended in him killing an entire town of people.

•He has now dedicated his life to spreading the word and teachings of Lathander to all of those he can.

•Volenta punched him through a wall and now he is head over heels for her.

•He also has major beef with Rictavio

•Solaris. An aasimar light Cleric of Shar...(very ironic to have both a shar follower and a lathander follower in the one party)

•Woke up one day as a child, and his parents had disappeared. It was almost as if they never existed in the first place. He was severely bullied due to this, but an older boy helped him and adopted him as a younger brother.

• One day, the bullying got so bad that he was nearly killed until a divine being blessed him and gave him the power to heal

• Now, stuck in Barovia, all he wants is to get back to his brother. But a divine being is threatening him in his dreams, talking him to not get involved or else his powers will be revoked.

•He has fallen in love with Ezekieiul.

NOTABLE MOMENTS:

•We helped doru get over his insatiable hunger for blood

• Ezekieiul rolling a Nat 20 intimidation on Eliza, the vistani spy, while she was invisible and saying "I see you" while looking straight at her. She ran away

•Talia, Ireena and Ezekieiul doing an interpretive dance in the middle of the road to try convince 4 wolves not to eat them. (It didnt work)

•Talia flirting with a member of the Vallakian guard so hard to get past the silver tax that he has now become a reoccurring character (oliver, the goat)

• Talia and Ezekieiul beefing with Rictavio for 1. Being an asshole. 2. Being a shit bard

• We turned blinkys into a sort of safe haven. We just hide there and feed piccolo bananas

•Volenta is beefing with Talia because her name keeps getting brought up in the castle, and there's already too many people there. Ezekieiul turns to Volenta and says "This is not the bitch you are looking for" and gets punched through a wall. He's is now in love with her.

•Talia and Ireena swapped outfits but were still wearing masks to stop Izek from finding her

• Ezekieiul, Solaris, Nikolai, and Karl Wactur rounded up 40 people from 'The Shack' and went to ding doing ditch the burgomasters manor. This slowly turned into pitchforks and torches, not harmless fun. Victor sent Talia a sending being like "guys please dont blow up my house i live here". Izek comes out. Pyromances using all the torches and kills 40 people.

•We kill Izek, and Strahd pulls up and congratulates us for defeating him. Then invites us to dinner. His eyes dart over to Talia, (who for the first time since the campaign started, is not wearing a costume and is wearing a ballgown), and he says, "Ah! I knew you reminded me of her! This is good news." When she asks him what she means, he says, "That is a story for another time."

• Our party + Victor Vallakovich, and Fiona Wactur go on a journey to the mill to get the hearthstone and then to the village of Barovia to track down Rictavio and arabelle.

•Fiona chooses fake names for us all when speaking to the hags

Victor - Vincent

Ireena - Zaria

Talia - Tatianna

Ezekieiul - Ethan

Solaris - Shane

•Talia is pretending that Victor is her younger brother in order to reason why he didn't come into the mill. Solaris then, in a slip up with Zone of Truth Doxxes Victor to the hags, dropping his full name, address, his spellcasting abilities. Needless to say, we had to fight them

•Whilst in Barovia, we're all in the tavern catching up with Ismark, and Solaris is ragebaiting Talia eg:

"So, how was being a noble? Was it amazing? Was it everything you'd ever dreamed of? I bet it was wonderful"

"Rahadin killed my parents."

*Absolute spit take from a woman at the bar*

• The woman turned out to be Anastrasya Karelova, and she heard basically Talia spill her guts about her life for 20 minutes. She is buttering Talia up, compliments galore, and then she whispers in her ear , "If you truly can't handle the selfishness of the people anymore and can't bear to feel alone anymore. There will always be a room in the castle for you. We would all thoroughly enjoy your company. Lord Strahd has a bad reputation from the villagers, but I can assure you that he is utmost accommodating, and he can definitely assist in the entertainment for a woman of your calibre and talents. He's truthfully very kind and can treat a lady very well" We let her fly away

•Escher then came and kidnapped Arabelle from Van Rictens Caravan

We are going to the Ethereal Plane tomorrow... I am so scared
