It’s The Name of the Wind, without a doubt. That book is without parallel– and I have read a shit ton of books–  it stands out in its storytelling (akin to the Odyssey and tales of old, its got d r a m a), its main character (a lying, thieving, prideful hero, who has suffered more than anyone else), and its world (a beautiful thing, a rich tapestry of tempting world building that drags you into wanting to know more, always more–
