Breaking in our stay in Colorado with an easy 5k run. It was a little tough after getting in late last night and the mile high elevation, but...the view! We have @cookiesandrunning to thank for telling us about this spot. . . . #colorado #boulder #cootlake #running #corunning #boulderrunning #5krun #sundayrunday #mizunorunning (at Coot Lake)

I cheated and therefor I’m injured at the moment. 3 months ago I made the mistake of purchasing shoes that were not my normal shoes. As long as I’ve been running races, I’ve been doing them in Brooks or the occasional Saucony. But no, I chose a different brand this time because I wasn’t a fan of the current version of my favorite shoe, and I regret that more than I would eating an entire Chipotle burrito in one sitting. Why, you might ask? Because now I cannot run.
I ran the Beat the Blerch half in Seattle, after having only run about 50 miles in the new shoes (which a slight bit of heel pain I assumed was due to breaking in the shoes). I couldn’t walk on my heel for 2 days after that race. I gave it 3 weeks of rehab and tried to go for a 5 mile run. Nope. Couldn’t walk again.Â
At this point I figured I’d see a doctor. I have Plantars Fasciitis (which is the most bourgeoisie injury I can possibly imagine). Regardless of my embarrassment over having to tell people what my injury, it’s basically the battle mark of runners and means I’m out of commission for a bit while it takes its amazingly long amount of time to heel (ha, get it? Because it’s a heel/foot injury?)....
So since I’m increasingly more frustrated by my inability to run, I thought I would list all the things I’ve been doing that aren’t running:
- Reading lots of Buzzfeed.
- Watching lots of youtube.Â
- Trying not to fail my grad school class.
- Stressing over my grad school class.
- Finding excuses to visit breweries.
- Eating cheese.
What I should have been doing:
- stationary bicycle
- yoga
- literally any form of exercise that isn’t just putting food into my mouth.
ok so i would like to add writing preferences to my blog but I'm not a writer so  if anyone is interested in co-running this blog with me let me know!!
