#corrupted! reader

So Corrupted!Reader wasn’t expecting to wake up after their beloved little brother drove a sword into that thing’s skull and making all their worst nightmares come true. (He’sTooYoungHesTooYoungHesTooYoung) but they did. They woke up after speaking their last words to Link.

“So… Proud… Love…You.”

(Words that will haunt him in his dreams)

But they did. They woke up and saw the bright blue sky for the first time in ten years. They could smell a warm mild aroma, flowers, the wind. The could hear a gentle murmur, birds, leaves, life. They could feel something soft yet firm under them.

“Bubba?”

The most beautiful sight they had ever seen crossed their vision.

Their baby brother, their Link, older, healthy, tears streaming down his face but smiling.

They felt their own tears stream down their face and reached out with a weak hand (a hand covered in twisted ugly pink scarring) and rested it against a warm cheek.

(They’d been burning for so long, they forgot how comforting warmth could be.)

“Hi.”

So Reader now has pink scars all over their body. They don’t look natural but almost like indented wine stains all over their body. Wild can gives some advice about how to deal with them since he’s bound to have a few.

But as far as Reader is concerned?

Lucky is grown, happy and healthy. They can handle a few scars.

Oh my god, can you imagine if Corrupted! Reader's last words, were love you...

IF ANY LINK HEARS THAT THEY'LL TAKE A DIRECT HIT TO THE HEART!!

The Chain didn't have anyone to take their place or to hold it back for them or to tell them that they're proud of them.

So Lucky- hearing this- having to kill them?

It would destroy them all.

So of course they all pitch in to save them.

When Reader wakes up, there's tears all around.

But they all give the sibling's their space.

It won't last long though.

Everyone wants to get to know the one person is all of Hyrule's history to take on their burden and do it with a smile.

It’s been abandoned for years, Lucky says. Around about the time his beloved big sibling disappeared. The one who stopped Ganon for him.

One day it was evacuated of all the servants and all the guards. A select few nobles left as well along next to Princess Zelda. But the King and some other all disappeared and a red fog surrounded the castle, letting no one in. (Lucky never knew it but it was the nobles who were the most outspoken about making a five year old fight and bleed for Hyrule that disappeared.)

They walk in and Wild begins to shiver as familiar red ooze appears along the walls. Everyone is on edge and Lucky feels miserable. This is his Hyrule and he should have noticed Ganon hiding here in the very heart of it. How could he have been so stupid?

But he’s here now and he will fix it. He has the Heroes of the past along side him. He can do this. (He’s terrified.)

As they approach the main throne room, the chain pauses as they hear the strangest thing. A clang of metal against metal and roars of fury and anguish and pain.

They race in there and see the strangest thing.

A creature so horrific that Hyrule, Time and Legend (the most sensitive to Dark Magic) stumble for the briefest of moments from the sheer Malice rolling of it and Wild stutters as he recognises Calamity Ganon.

What is strange is that it seems to fight against its own Blight. He’s never seen that one before or another like it. All his Blight were much larger that this one. This one is nearly covered in Malice as well but it seems almost Hylian in places.

The new Blight turns and Lucky recognises those eyes (or eye since the other is cover by Malice and four bulging evil eyes). That hair peeking out. That tunic.

He’s seen those features in every photo he has of his wonderful big sibling. (How could he have left them for so long?)

Corrupted!Reader fights Calamity Ganon and against their nature with a single mindedness even ten years after they locked themselves in the castle, ten years of pain, of corruption, of loneliness.

(Ganon may have command over most of the Triforce of Power but Reader has a small amount of control and a sliver of Absolute Power is still Absolute Power.)

All for one little boy.

Reader turns and recognises those eyes. That hair. That Courage damn green tunic and roars the only words they have in ten years and keeps fighting.

For him.

“Link! Run!”

Thank you.

My heart is broken.

Even after all that- they're still the same.

It's still you.

Can Reader be saved?

Zelda would still need to purify the malice to seal Ganon away- can Reader be purged of their calamity?

Or are they running on calamity alone?

Once purged, their body collapses on itself from not needing to eat or sleep or drink water for years and can no longer sustain itself.

Lucky may have saved the world at last but he couldn't save the one who gave their all to protect him.

Which hero can say that they even has someone to watch their back and protect them?

While in the healing process every single person in the chain is doing their part and assisting them as much as they can. Trying to get to know them, assisting them even if it's just fluffing their pillow.

Throughout all of it the reader is just smiling and making conversation. Telling the chain how proud they are of them being able to fight Ganon on their own. Even though they're devastated and apologizes over and over again on how sorry they are that they couldn't help prevent it for them like how they did for Lucky,and that just struck them in the heart.

When the reader means that they would do anything for Link to give him the proper childhood and to make sure that he grows up happy, they don't mean just Lucky.

They meant all of them.

You best know that once reader is healed they will try their damn hardest to try to make the chain feel as appreciated as they ever could.

Not to mention, that Reader has to thank them for being with Lucky too.

And for taking care of him.

And for being the older siblings they never got the chance to be- that he never had to the chance to have.

Reader wants to go home and put an end to this but thier anger and want for thier brother to stay out of danger is just too powerful

I have not seen that.
