Unloaded the gas kiln yesterday evening and got to see my finished work. This little silly ditty of #styrofoam #tacohat @tacosombrero.official cups is ready for some sweat tea while eating a macho taco chicken salad. 🤤 In all seriousness the firing went well, the glazes did what they were suppose to do, and the #corrosiveware looks corrosive. I am a little disappointed in the specks that have come through the underglaze. This means there must have been a change in mesh size, change in material or a contamination in a material. It doesn’t affect the clay, just gives it specks. This came as a bit of a shock, because this clay has never been speckled like this before. However with each batch of clay there will be a chance for things to not be exact since ceramics is a secondary market for the materials. Now that I know I can make decisions about what to do going forward.
