The best part is they wonder why she growls when they tell her to go in her kennel when they leave. GEE I WONDER Ugh. I finally got NiteHawk to accept the crate as ânot the worst place in the world,â but I donât think heâll ever willingly use it.
Omg right! That was advice they were giving, to use it as an aversive tool, but at least a few people quickly corrected that advice. The problem dog is one of the twenty Chi mixes my rescue pulled from a hoarding house with over one hundred and twenty dogs; they have enough behavioral issues without having to add âhatred of crates and enclosed areasâ to the list.
Yeah! I think sometimes crating and if they love it depends on the individual dog but itâs good to at least try to get them to the point where they wonât lose their mind when they have to go in it. Yahto, Amala, Fritz, Garcelle, and Fritz would all willingly go into their crate whenever they wanted to, whether I would tell them to or not. Reyna, Brigitte, and Cole did not use it willingly, but I got them to a point where they were ok when they had to go in (with the exception of Cole, who has severe separation anxiety and left before we could get a trainer for him).
