Corpse Reviver No. 2
Corpse Revivers have been popular hangover cures since the 19th Century, but one doesn't need to be tipsy to indulge in these tipples! Corpse Reviver No. 2, my favourite of the lot, is indeed best enjoyed sober, I reckon; its delectable tartness enhanced by a hint of sweetness (from the orange liqueur) and a dash of herbaceous flavour (from the absinthe)! It certainly does lift one's spirits up! Cheers!
Ingredients (serves 1):
1/4 teaspoon absinthe
6 large ice cubes
22.5 millilitres/3/4 fluid ounces (1 1/2 tablespoon) London Dry Gin
22.5 millilitres/3/4 fluid ounces (1 1/2 tablespoon) Lillet Blanc
22.5 millilitres/3/4 fluid ounces (1 1/2 tablespoon) orange liqueur (like Cointreau)
1/2 juicy lemon
Pour absinthe in a chilled coupe glass, and swirl it around the glass before pouring it out, to rinse.
Place ice cubes in a shaker.
Top with Gin, Lillet Blanc and Cointreau.
Thoroughly squeeze in the juice of the lemon halve.
Close shaker tightly and shake energetically until well-chilled.
Strain into prepared coupe glass.
Enjoy Corpse Reviver No.2 immediately.

Hi everyone o/ running over here to let you all know that Iām still hanging in there--Iām continuing to work on the story, but Iāve also been closing down on some stuff I normally do because of IRL things going on. (āoā ; ) Being active on Tumblr was caught in the crossfire.
For now Iām going to keep working on the story while seeing how things pan out IRL. I canāt say how active Iāll be on here, but I donāt plan on being gone forever because I really like interacting with you all. Hopefully once things have been settled IRL I can continue on with my usual activity on here.Ā
Also thank you for all the follows. I think the last time I checked I had 600+ followers. Now I have like 800+ :O How are you all finding me?! Iāve been inactive for like 4 months...
Also x2, hereās some unfinished Daemin art. Iāve been wanting to redesign his armor, but drawing armor hurts my soul.Ā Ā
Good night/day to you all!Ā
This is a very first draft of my MC for @corpsereviver-if
I might change a few things later down the line, like maybe refine the halo design I went a bit crazy there I feel or rethink eye colors lol
But otherwise I like how I made her look xD
Albeit she's a bit on the red/reddish side, now that I look at it a bit longer LOL
No name yet :'3 (names are always the toughest for me to think about lmao)
Uuuh, nothing more to say I think
Um... enjoy???š„ŗ
Honestly, thereās probably going to be a pass at this with a different template, but I like the Corpse Reviver and wanted to design a drink highlighting exclusively Japanese ingredients. The Midori makes it feel a little throwback too, appropriate for a Showa-era show. No real joke this time, just a Friendly Reminder you can watch Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju and you really really should.Ā
Tekerettsu no Paa/Shinigami
ABV 23.86% | Yield: 3.75 ounces | Equal Parts, Corpse Reviver, Classic w a twist, Up Drinks, Japanese Ingredients
22.5ml or .75oz Japanese Gin [Read Note]Ā Ā
22.5ml or .75oz MidoriĀ
22.5ml or .75oz Japanese BermuttoĀ
15ml or .5oz lemon juiceĀ
8ml or .25oz sudachi juiceĀ
dash or spritz absinth verte
Ā Rinse glass with absinthe. Shake all other ingredients and strain, garnish with lemon twist or maraschino cherry.Ā
Regarding Japanese Gin: Nikka Coffey is my suggestion for those really accustom to the London Dry style, its juniper is similarly punchy. Angelica is common much as it is in American gins. Generally, the most defining other botanicals of the modern Japanese Gin category include citrus like yuzu, kabosu, amanatsu, and herbs or spices like sansho pepper or shiso. Tea, plum or persimmon may also feature. However, while a few use it, proper Japanese GinĀ largely will NOT emphasize one particular flavoring: Sakura, or cherry blossoms. there are brands on the market pretending to be Japanese -- heavy use of cherry blossom images, Japanese-ish sounding names, weāve seen this before with fake Japanese Whisky -- but their flavors are completely wrong for this. Similar botanicals keep showing up in each of these ingredients in part to see howĀ well they harmonize -- if they have the rightĀ āvoiceā together. I havenāt tried every Japanese gin, but commonly found ones likeĀ Roku[which contains sakura leaf as well as flower, teas, and sansho and yuzu -- by Suntory and 135 East Hyogo Dry by Kaikyo also work quite well.Ā
On the other specialty ingredients...Ā
