This strange looking bird is a corncrake - Latin name "Crex crex" They have rapidly declined in the last few decades due to a loss of habitat. On the Isle of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides they are doing well thanks to the local crofters efforts to farm the machair for their benefit. They are secretive which makes it even more special to see them. #corncrake #outerhebrides #scotland #scotlandlover #bird #birdphotos #birdwatching #birdsofinstagram #instabird #birding #birdphotos #originalphotography
