happy wet bird wednesday

and the birds in my header (and in my icon) are all barn swallows!! i become more and more fond of swallows by the day, and barn swallows' colors are SO pretty. i love watching swallows flit around hunting bugs, especially when they get super close to the ground after its rained (i think the rain stirs up the bugs and makes it easier for them to feed-- otherwise they tend to dart around pretty high in the air, or low over bodies of water!) (i had a very cool experience back in late may when i went back to my college campus briefly to pick something up; it had just rained and the resident barn swallows were darting alllll across the grass and getting super close to me). thank you for asking!! i hope this bird knowledge has brought you joy :D
