Okay, I rarely post stuff but I feel like I need to adress some otome game stuff considering I've been on a binge recently.
How the *fuck* do you address poor writing? Like, how?
For example, these three dudes.
I present to you, the first offense, Dalton and whoever his counterpart is.
This grown ass dude starts dating you to make his ex jealous, falls for you and then asks you for a transactional relationship. Don't even get me started that a white ass dude is calling you jagiya? His whole spiel is that he's a CEO of a Kpop company, rich and horny. Who wrote this? Who is the fangirl writing down this stuff?
Second offense, Corey.
So, while he's an okay written character, I feel like his whole route is a mess. I get it, he's supposed to be a celebrity and all but he drops the bomb that he has a whole ass child and MC is like "okay ☺️". YOOOO. At 26, if I accidentally find out that a dude I'm seeing is hiding a child (which MC finds out on accident bc A FOUR YEAR OLD CHILD ran away from home) I'd be done. Immediately. Bye boy. It's not even about the kid, it's how the MC is supposed to just smile and nod their head after finding out tge way they did.
And lastly, third offense. Yuki.
Okay, so he's a shapeshifter. Every day, bc of his curse, he wakes up with a different face. The man can accidentally shift into a child. A CHILD. And MC is like "wow so cool ilysmbb 🥺". HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE OKAY WITH THAT.
After playing MeChat (all available free routes cuz yo girl ain't gonna drop more money on exclusive characters), I don't understand how such bad routes get approved. There are some I really enjoyed, there are some that I find off-putting (stuff like love bombing), but just how do these dumpster fires get the thumbs up?
